"It's the world's longest-running experiment - and the very, very patient scientists in charge are waiting for a single drop of pitch to fall, 12 YEARS after the last one fell.

The ‘pitch drop’ experiment began in 1927 and was designed to show that solid-looking pitch was, in fact, a liquid.

The experiment has been running now for 85 years and it is estimated that it will last for another century."

The only problem I see with this experiment is that glass is also a liquid, so how long before the funnel is too misshapen to allow pitch to drop?

What a totally useless waste of good pitch. If I may offer a better use, heat the pitch to about  175 F, grab some feathers a brush, apply it liberally to a liberal like Gov. Perdue of NC tie her stupid ass to a rail and run  her out of state. ::thumbsup::
