May as well get this party started. There is a lot to speculate on, pre-debate and all. So have at it..
-
Bizarre
Surrealistic
Unlike Obamakov, Bidet will not be taken aback by professional
command and presentation of facts but will retaliate with blather
which will be consumed with gusto by the 33%.
-
The key will be to get him into full mouth mode. That's when things get interesting. The mouth runs quite a bit faster than the brain.
-
I'm not worried about Ryan. He listens and thinks before he speaks.
Biden will play the experience card and try to sound caring. He won't have anything of substance to say. He could end up sounding out-of-date.
-
Don't be too quick to write off Biden. Yes, he's an idiot. But he's a telegenic and passionate idiot. All he has to do is stay on message and not screw up for an hour and a half. It can be done.
There was no way that Romney wasn't going to win that last debate. BUT...his victory would not have been anywhere near as total and crushing as it was if BO had managed to stick to his talking points. He couldn't do it because he had no teleprompter or ear piece telling him what to say. Biden is much more experienced at being a politician than BO. He isn't a master politician but he's better than BO. A gaffe here and there is a small price to pay for someone who isn't a total zero like BO is.
So, yeah, I actually expect Biden (as big a loser as he is) to do better than BO in a debate format. I know that's not saying much given last week's debacle...the bar is exceedingly low now...but it is, nevertheless, true.
Personally, I would be mortally ashamed of being shown up by Biden and I don't mean Ryan. What happens if Biden does okay and the media is forced to acknowledge that he did better than BO? What happens when BO has to at least match Biden's performance? What if he lays another egg?
Ryan is going to win but I don't think he will come anywhere near to the type of humiliating defeat that Romney served up to BO. And that's because Biden isn't as big a debate screwup as BO. An idiot, yes, but not a complete and total zero.
-
Unless one side really trounces the other, a VP debate is almost meaningless in the grand scheme. It's entertainment for political junkies more than anything.
-
You are probably right but you never know when you will encounter the exception that proves the rule.
-
Look for the "Stand up Chuck" moment and relish in the incompetence of the second biggest loser in the White House.
-
I'm prepping for the debate too,I'm getting a new haircut just in case there's a lynching I don't want to look unprepared.

Lies Biden is sure to promote:
Ryan/Romney's plan will hurt seniors; kill Medicare
Romney's plan will include a 5 trillion dollar tax increase, all on the middle class.
BIG BIRD! BIG BIRD! They wanna kill Big Bird
Ryan will do fine on numbers, Bidens eyes will glaze over . . .

ObamaCare is killing off Medicare AND jacking up taxes AND bringing in rationed care AND leading to Death Panels, how's that for reality? Wonder how that goes over with the idiots donating to Obama via AARP! ::mooning::
The $5t tax increase BS (any tax increase BS!) is all based on the Big Lie spread by Obama which one of the victims of this abuse (Princeton professor Harvey Rosen) already disavowed and declared the Romney/Ryan tax plans are REVENUE NUETRAL! ::doublebird::
If Big Bird with all the commercialization/marketing around that whole SS operation, you telling me they have to have thier hand in the packet of every taxpayer? BS! ::vafancoul::
Those are easy smackdowns BigAl! ::thumbsup::

I'm not writing off Biden. I expect this debate will be as boring as the other was entertaining. Biden will offer the same old/same old which will be exactly what the media and other lefties will take comfort in hearing and thus no matter what Ryan does Biden will be the winner. BO was so awful that the media/left had to protect their own image and self-perception by acknowledging its awfulness. Biden will be the winner by virtue of his not be completely awful like BO. I don't expect him to make any gaffes in a debate format. I expect Ryan to make excellent points but the media will ignore them to tell us how wonderful Biden did compared to the prez and how the prez will do better the next time. I think they'll use Biden to prop up the prez and ignore Ryan.
By the way after the other debate I heard about how all this fact checking of Romney's answers was going to happen. One reporter I heard made it sound like there would an avalanche of information when that happened. I don't remember hearing any startling news--maybe I missed it. Or maybe that was her way of throwing doubt onto Romney's answers.
-
I will be mildly surprised if Biden does not commit at least one significant gaffe. The debate is long and Biden has to fill close to half of it with his jaw flapping. It's almost inevitable.
But no, there is little to no chance that he will have anywhere near as disastrous a performance as BO did last week. It will probably be an "acceptable" debate performance. Unless he commits a major league gaffe. Then it will merely be a bad debate performance rather than an unmitigated disaster.
The veep debate could be quite entertaining. Or not.
But remember, it's more of an intermission between Act 1 and Act 2 of the main event. And there is almost no reason to believe that BO will be significantly better in the second debate. After all, what could possibly change to strengthen his debate performance ability? What could possibly change to give him something to positively argue in favor of as regards his record?
What did we see last week? We saw BO show up for a NASCAR race with a broken bicycle and the obvious and predictable result. Will BO be showing up with a 600 horsepower stock car next week? No. He will be showing up with his same old broken bicycle except that maybe he will have one of those little bell things screwed to the handle bar. Romney will have the stock car. The race results will be the same.
So we have a perhaps interesting interlude coming up with Ryan/Biden. It may or may not be interesting.
Next week, next week...
-
Heard Jonah Goldburg this morning quoting Ryan as saying Biden makes mistakes when he's not under pressure and relaxed --then he says anything. Ryan thinks at the debate Biden will be under pressure and rise to the occassion.
The advantage both Ryan and Biden have is they've seen each other in action for years. BO had no clue what he was up against and didn't care. I think Ryan lives and breathes his beliefs and has it down beyond cold. Biden can stuff his head full of information and it may be sufficient to please his base but I think Ryan has the ability to really listen and not be sidetracked.
I wonder what each of them has focused on in practice? Biden obviously has to get information down. I'd think Ryan would be focused more on style.
-
May as well get this party started. There is a lot to speculate on, pre-debate and all. So have at it..
I am apparently the only man on earth who predeicted the outcome of the last debate. I knew that all the BS about Obama's great debating skills was a lie, and I knew Romney would mop Obama. I was right.
Now I make another prediction: Ryan will win only in the eyes of wonks, becauser Ryan knows facts. Biden has the nice-guy factor and will come off as the wise old man. It will be a lie, because Ryan is far smarter than Biden, but thats how it will play. Ryan will win in the eyes of those of use who appreciate facts, but it will not be a bow-out like the last debate was.

Democrat-Media Complex - VP Debate Directive: Nothing to see here, move along...
-
Unless one side really trounces the other, a VP debate is almost meaningless in the grand scheme. It's entertainment for political junkies more than anything.
I think this debate will be the exception to the rule for the simply because this administration has been projected to be the 2nd coming. I'll be surprised if the TV audience isn't large.
The libs can't afford to look ill prepared. If bidet gets schooled, it's gonna be difficult to pass it off as "it's just Joe". The lib media will, but will subject themselves to more ridicule.....Not that they care.
-
Wonder is Ryan is going to bring up Libya.
That would be a hot topic.
-
I think this debate will be the exception to the rule for the simply because this administration has been projected to be the 2nd coming. I'll be surprised if the TV audience isn't large.
As far as the audience goes, remember there are 2 MLB championship games and an NFL game on during that time frame.
-
Wonder is Ryan is going to bring up Libya.
That would be a hot topic.
Unfortunately this is a town hall style debate. I am not sure, given that, how they will run it. It will most likely be a mix of audience and moderator questions. Ryan will have to bring up Libya at whatever convenient moment is made available.
-
I expect the moderator to do all she can to rehab her friend after his own debate performance, even if that means ambushing Ryan with "when will you stop beating your wife?" sorts of questions, and asking Biden to expound on what a great guy Obama is and how much worse would things be if Bush policies had continued.
-

Should that happen I fully expect Ryan to be able to handle it and make it look easy.

Me too.....there may be a few issues I will have with our candidates, but handling a hostile host is not one of them.

Could bode for more high drama, Bidet on the attack? Sounds like a recipe for endless episodes for nonsensical rambling!
-
Okay...let's get this party started.
I certainly do not expect a repeat of last week. It might be interesting but it will not be anything close to a debacle.
I fully expect Biden to get the softball questions.
I don't expect it to happen but if it gets physically violent I am pretty sure that Ryan would beat the crap out of Biden.
-
He's awake, points for that, eh? ::hysterical::
-
First question for Biden is a softball: Was the Libyan consulate attack an intelligence failure?
Biden immediately goes rambling all over the place.
Ryan immediately goes on offense. Brutal.
-
Talking points, didn't answer.
ETA - Re: Bidet
-
Boom! Ryan nailed the Obama Regime on all points!
-
Raddatz tries to rescue Biden by going after Ryan/Romney.
-
Whoa! Bidet pulling stuff out of his butt! Where the specifics? ::whatgives::
Backside investigative CYA, results after the election, stops asking me question beeoch! (That's what he wants to say!)
::hysterical::
To Ryan - Burning Korans? WGAF?!
-
Biden lies about Benghazi. What they knew and when they knew it.
-
I will give Raddatz credit for the Benghazi question to Biden...it was a tough question. But Biden just lies all over the place and she did allow him to get away with it.
She just cut Ryan right off as he was making a point.
-
Yes, all lies. "Uhh, we didn't know"! BS!!!
-
Biden looks like a complete ass for laughing at Ryan while Ryan speaks.
-
Plugs chuckling. Yeah, people all around the globe are inspired by such buffoonish half-witicism!
::hysterical::
-
World is totally united on stopping Iran's nuclear bomb effort? The Russians no longer blocking us? Then ChiComs? WTF is this clown kidding? No weapon to put it into? Uhh, bomb + airplance + Tel Aviv = Happy time? What a sh*thead!
-
What Biden is demonstrating is that the BO admin takes the Iranian nuke situation just as seriously as they did the Benghazi consulate security situation. Very comforting.
Biden believes that the Iranians are incapable of walking and chewing gum at the same time...that they inexplicably have no delivery vehicle for their bomb. That A follows B when it is entirely possible to do A and B at the same time.
BTW...I will have to put this on pause in a little bit and go and pick up my daughter. I am irritated that I will not see half of the debate in real time.
-
Be good father, we'll be here.
-
Oh boy...the economy and Raddatz is now tossing Biden a softball.
-
It's all Bush's fault, woulda coulda been worse if not for $6t in Obama debt and crony capitalism and free sh*t for all!
-
This debate is shaping up to be judged by the media as a win for Biden. At best they will declare it a tie.
-
Rape the rich! Yeah, they're asking for it, the bastards! Kill 'em all!
-
Unemployment was 8.5% in 2008, 10% now in Scranton, ooohh, Plugs hated that one, look at the asshat fold his arms, he's close to blowing!
::whoohoo::
-
Auto bailouts - Plugs, we saved $1m jobs? BS! Prove it! You can't! Pure BS and in no way justifies blowing bazzillions of taxpayer dollars of taxpayers NOT EVEN ALIVE YET!
Ryan - Full Dem control of govt coming in...lists all the failures, unemployment, GDP...Bidet in charge of oversight of porkulus...where'd it go?! Bidet-no evidence of cronyism. Nails Ryan on two WI grants. Ryan-green money to China a good thing eh?
On to Medicare... ::)
-
I'm not kidding...Biden is not doing himself any favors by laughing during Ryan's answers.
-
He thinks he's smart and hip or something... ::hysterical::
-
Nailing Obama care and OC/MC double-counting.
Bene cuts on seniors coming.
Can't wait to see Bidet spout...
Oh good, lies and pandering, didn't see that coming... ::unknowncomic::
AMA, AARP love us, hate you, nah nah nah nah nah...
Wow, Jr High debate tactics...he's so awesome! / ::laughonfloor::
-
Ryan is being respectful of Biden but Biden is not reciprocating.
-
Ryan is being respectful of Biden but Biden is not reciprocating.
\
Then he needs to stop it right now,
-
Biden is going full retard. I wonder if he thinks this is going to work?
-
Ryan is starting to interrupt the Bidet in return now, since he shows so little respect for Ryan. You cannot debate Ryan on the facts especially on policy issues, Bidet can only lie, laugh, bully chuckle, blame, and say the other guy sucks more than I!
-
again we need to move on.BITCH!
-
Nothing's more valuable than musings on business and economics from a man who has been in elected office since he was 29 years old. What an oaf.
-
Theyre not asking for the tax cut?? Jump on his sh*t.
-
Good time to mention the 1trillion in taxes proposed.
-
Bidet - Middle class pay less in taxes! ::speechless:: ::hysterical:: ::rolllaughing:: ::laughonfloor::
The O'Bongo/Bidet Regime wants to let the Bush Tax cuts die in total so bad they cannot stand it! Goodbye any chance of recovery, any chance at employment numbers not going into the toilet, goodbye small business, goodbye!
-
Ryan is nailing him good, Bidet cannot even interrupt with half-assed lies! ::whoohoo::
-
Bidet is on the scare mongering rant, and there it is LET THE TAX CUTS EXPIRE, he said it!
-
Beeoch isn't letting Ryan respond and lets Bidet ramble... Didn't see that coming... / ::unknowncomic::
Now Ashcanistan...
-
Bidet has been all over Ashcanistan 20 times...I wonder if he knew where he was?
Afghanization. Yeah, how did Vietnamization work, dumbass?
Leaving in 2014 no matter what. Cool, I'm sure the Taliban have thier celebrations marked on the calendar in permanent ink.
Ryan - Get our people home ASAP, but Obama foreign policy unraveling. Date certain stupid. Yeah.
Bidet - Taliban question dodged. It's on the Afghanis. OK, why not leave now then?
Surge troops (surge was late, lets not forget that!) out by end of summer. We just had our deadliest year there ever. But it's OK JCS made the call and O'Bongo/Bidet was OK to let them hold the stink bag.
Ryan - Pulled out before fighting season ended (weather), probably explains the rise in deaths.
Bidet - Afghanis filled the void. Apparently not very well, eh? Ryan hit 'em on it. Afghan problem not ours, tell that to families of our dead soldiers asswipe!
Syria, this outta be good.
-
Bidet on Syria - Worried of regional war? Uhh, they ain't goin' for nukes like Iran, moron! Hit 'em Ryan! And hit 'em on the lack of US strategic interest!
"Loose talk" mantra on Romney again, that line is on his notepad a lot, the big red pencil for the pencil necked moron got a work out.
ID people for a stable govt in Syria! He and O'Bongo are insane!
Ryan - outsourcing to UN on the issue, Russian arms influencing decisions in Syria, Bashar still there slaughtering people and is syptomatic of Obama Regime foreign policy failings. Russia veto power controlling the events, "Reset" not working, heh!
Bidet - Gosh, what else to do?
Ryan - Redline on chem weapons, no US troops, Iran is flying arms in. Criteria (anywhere) national security interests of the US should US troops be used.
-
Role of religion, two Catholics, abortion, great, war on wymens meme comin'.
Ryan - How to seperate faith from public positions. Pro Life not just because of faith, but science. 7 week ultra-sound on first born, nicknames daughter bean (it's a human life)...rape, incest, life of mother, usual stance that, hits Obama Regime suing Church and forcing them to accept what is against their faith, it is "extreme".
Bidet - Catholic my whole life...blah blah, abortion - refuses to impose his beleif on others cop out, women control their bodies, SC, blah. Denies they are forcing Catholic institutions to offer services, a clear lie.
Ryan - If you beleive in life begins at conception, cannot reconcile forcing Catholic institutions.
Supreme Court - Bidet: R v W is close to being overturned...run wymens run! We pick open minded people! ::hysterical::
-
Okay, well...this debate has not hurt us and I score that as a win.
I would say that Ryan did as well as he could against his two opponents.
It was not a fair debate by any stretch of the imagination and yet Ryan did what he needed to do: Demonstrate that he and Romney are an acceptable replacement for the current admin.
-
I wonder if Biden will interrupt Ryan during Ryan's closing statement?
-
Tone question of campaign, in context of those serving, jeesh!
Bidet - Condemning special interest group ads, class warfare is patriotic, vom,it, barf, gag!
Ryan - Thanks for your service, no devastating cuts to military, no Obama style blame and borken promises of hope & change, no destruction of seniors under OC/MC plan, no broken promises on cutting defecit in half like Obama, leaders fix problems, no credible plan in 4 years by Obama to tackle debt, Romney has a plan, CBO slams Obama speechified plans without details, no promise broken for not fixing things.
Bidet - Mediscare, stupid kids roaming the streets, increase tax cuts for wealthy, Ryan jumps in and rebuts on taxes. ::thumbsup::
What can you offer nobody else can? Ryan - honesty! ::whoohoo:: Pro-growth policies, etc.
Bidet- Quibbles over time, no more filibustering moron! My record is all middle class. ::hysterical::
Closing remarks, Bidet first. Who cares, fugetaboutem! Dead man talking. This idiot and his moron boss are getting bounced, let the door bang your butt on the way out!
::mooning::
-
I wonder if Biden will interrupt Ryan during Ryan's closing statement?
::hysterical::
-
Ryan, in his closing statement, is using a fundamental sales technique: He is asking for the sale.
Biden's closing statement put me to sleep. Did he ask for the vote?
-
So yeah, Biden won because he didn't need a bathroom break.
-
Ryan - Obama had his chance, it isn't working, he's failed. Thisn is not what a real recovery looks like. We can do better. "Wouldn't it be nice to have a job creator in the White House"!
Choice is clear!
Way better closing than the Bidet's!
::thumbsup::
Bidet couldn't shake Ryan's hand fast enough and GTFO of there! ::hysterical::
Spin time!
Bold prediction. / MFM says Joe won easily! ::laughonfloor::
-
We should have a snap poll or two come out within the next 30 minutes or so.
-
Fox - Trippi: Smirking was condescending and overdone, detracted any gains Bidet hoped to score.
Bidet was smirking when Ryan thanked him during his closing remarks.
Bidet gaff - Blaming the Benghazi affair on Intel Cmnty, not going over well.
Trippi on 47%b mantra by Bidet - Did wymens find him likeable? Obama may not care, he stuck to his talking points.
-
Perhaps next week the Democrats will let BO toss down a few of Biden's Ensures and Boosts.
-
I wonder how the Luntz Lunkheads will score it?
-
I wonder how the Luntz Lunkheads will score it?
Me too!
-
Smirking, laughing, smiling, sneering...split screen, didn't see split screen on CSPAN but a angle view where you could see it.
Benghazi flub, $716b lie may be lost in wonk-land.
The smirking sneering stuff is really being keyed on.
Luntz, ugh! I can pass on that zipperhead!
I'm still waiting on that lie detector outfit findings on the O'Bongo debate flame out!
-
I do believe that Ryan did what he needed to do which was to prevent a Biden win. He prevented the conversation from being significantly changed. No one is going to be talking about Ryan's poor debate performance for the next several days. So that's a win.
And, as I said earlier, Ryan accomplished the most important thing: He allowed everyone to see that he and Romney are credible replacements for the current idiots. Because this is a referendum election. There are a lot of people who just want to be reassured that voting for Romney/Ryan won't be a mistake. And this performance accomplished that. So that's a win.
-
Wallace - Never has seen any candidate so openly disrespectful as Biden. Ryan may have got lostm in the policy weeds, well, latter day Americans are not allows known for their depth of current events knowledge, but Romney is better on the theme score and balance with facts. IN the Veep stakes I don't think Ryan is as hurt by policy wonk stuff than the top of the ticket guys.
Agreed Trap, it is a referndum election and on that score Ryan got his shots in, and it may be all that the electorate keys on. After all Bidet only offered an rambling defense of Obamunism and a were better than they are response with smirks and scare-mongering thown in. Nothing here tonight helps the O'Bongo/Bidet ticket, zero. It is up to the top of the ticket, and on that score Obama comes up way short.
-
Krauthammer gives a Kenndy-Nixon type wrap - listen on radio Bidet won, saw on TV Ryan won.
ETA - Agrees with Wallace - unprecedented disrespect toward Ryan and thought Ryan was more than deferential handling it, agrees this will not move the election and that the last two rounds belong to Romney & Obama.
-
Biden is the reason many people hate to talk politics.
He's the guy who smirks and argues when you try to discuss.
Bidn's closing remarks were so boring...did he mention Obama at all?
Ryan's was effective -- looking at the camera and getting all his points in-- excellent.
And I'd suggest the Biden needs a little more practice as a Catholic. Man did he ever come off as a politician who just keeps talking and will say anything.
I hope there's a commercial tomorrow that uses Biden's comment that he always means what he says--he said that twice. I guess he liked it and thought it was effective. In my house we all burst out laughing.
I think Biden's style is consistent with the Obama's administration's concerns about issues--dismissive and disrespectful.
Biden didn't talk a lot about Obama. Ryan made points about Romney. I thought that was good.
When Biden wasn't grinning inappropriately he seemed almost angry. He seemed to be going after Martha too in some of his answers where he got hot. The libs will call it passion but he seemed angry and argumentative.
-
I should have seen the disrespect angle coming. Bidet constantly interrupting, smirking like a self righteous ass. What an embarrassment.
-
RNC rapid response team hits the hanging curveball out of the park...
Laughing at the Issues (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCtemaHgjyA#ws)
-
Media declares Biden the victor...no surprise.
Most polls show Ryan won the debate. Most polls show Ryan as "more likable."
Total win.
I expect the media will not be able to sway people from these opinions...look for the polls to either hold where they are or perhaps continue (since that's where they are already moving) in the Romney direction for another point. There should be no movement in the polls that can be attributed to this debate since these guys aren't running for president. Ryan would have had to really screw the pooch for a reversal. It isn't going to happen. The Mittmentum should be good for another week.
Travel day for me tomorrow...I won't be posting unless it's from the iPhone. You guys have fun...enjoy the Ryan victory.

That's not all, he lied when he said he did not vote for Afghan & Iraq wars.
http://freebeacon.com/biden-claims-he-voted-against-afghanistan-iraq-wars/ (http://freebeacon.com/biden-claims-he-voted-against-afghanistan-iraq-wars/)
He lied about embassy security, the cuts Plugs talks about were not to security, they were in overall appropriations, and this I think was one of the times where the libiot Raddatz interputed Ryan trying to follow up on that and went on to the next topic.
ZH gives the win to Raddatz, heh, funny. NIce word counts and word bubbles -

She also visited Biden's residence in March. And had Obama at her wedding, or was it her daughter's wedding...anyway, they're personal friends.
I just want to know why the Republicans let them keep getting away with this steaming pile of BS that they are anything close to objective, neutral referees. They're deeper in the fish tank for Obama than that little plastic pirate ship that releases a stream of bubbles.
If I were the GOP, I would simply refuse to give these arrangements one iota of legitimacy. Why not demand all moderators publicly list who they voted for in the past 20 years of presidential elections? If they want to play "moderator" after that, fine. But not while also pretending to be some sort of impartial judge.

I rant on that all the time and for so long I forget how long...

It really is infuriating to see Republicans walk into the same lion's den cycle after cycle.
At some point, you'd think the cost of doing so would outweigh the potential fallout of refusing.
Still, when you think about the multi-tentacled, thousand-headed behemoth that stands against the conservative message and conservatives, it is a testament to conservatism that our ideology is at least in parity with the ideology of lies.
