Not my era but my fathers somewhat (he still favored the swing music he and his older siblings grew up with) but all in all not the demonic times the Left would have you believe, they always like to characterize that era as a bunch of naive fools mindlessly enjoying post war fruits will hiding all of America's ills under the rug, what a load of crap, it was a good time and the ME/I generation behaved (and are behaving) like mindless narcissists by comparison!

On a personal note, had I lived then I would have no doubt been one of those greased-hair cycle-riding bad boys...or a moonshine-running/car racing gear-head!

Cool, JF! Although it was before my time....sort of......well, most of it.

Although I can't figure out why they put the GN Buick in there. Everything was great before and after.

Made me wish I still had my first car. '65 Ford Galaxy 500 rag top.

My first car was an MG Midget. I bought it off my brother after he wrecked it. I searched high and low until I found a donor car (which turned out to be the Austin counterpart) and combined them into one working vehicle. It desperately needed head work (burnt valves) and so was a real dog, but it was still a blast to bomb around in (remember I was sixteen).

I got into a race with an Austin Mini Cooper S going through the Arboretum (a turn of the century park with narrow, tight-cornered roads). I couldn't keep up with him so I had to compensate by flying through the corners. I wiped out and ripped the steering wheel off in my hands.

I put the car back together and traded it for a van.

1968 Plymouth Fury III. Green.

Sweet!  I had a girlfriend who had scored one of those back in the late 70's, black, nice cruiser, interior immaculate but the previous owner let the motor go, it was ready to hatch last time I saw it.

Mine was a 1973 Plymouth Duster, light in the fanny, but the little 318 was a snappy little motor, and big bench seats...ohh yeah!

Soup, I had a MG B 1973
That was a fun car especially here in western Pa with the hilly, windy roads.

Wife complains that she dated 3 or 4 guys that MGs. All before she knew them

That really brought memories.
Born in 1950 (on a mountaintop in...)

I went through 2 &3 and made my kids watch. They sort of enjoyed it

My 1st love car was this.

1967 Mercury Cyclone, 351 Cleveland, 4 on the floor and one gigantic front bench seat.  This is not my car but is representative.

Exact same car in the picture,That's not my car but it could be my 1968 torino GT fastback. It started out as a 302 with a four speed and ended up a 427 SOC motor with a top loader, what a beast.

Unfortunately I have no pictures of my Torino. It was a '68 like JF's, white with blue stripes.

I gave it to my then wife who didn't like it. so I traded it for a '74 Ranchero. She didn't like it.
So I traded that for a '75 Camaro. She didn't like it so I kept that and bought her a Berlineta.

There's just no pleasing some people  ::whatgives::

If you look closely at my avatar there are my 2 current loves toys, a 1967 Pontiac Trans Am (knockoff) and a 2006 Corvette convertible.  Both are capable of 150+ mph.

Damn, that Cyclone looks fine!

Five months from now I'll be attending the 40th annual Back To The 50's Weekend at the Fairgrounds.
