This has my "something doesn't smell right" detector flashing and buzzing!

Why would any POTUS take the time to push for something like this?
Why would state-controlled media trumpet this and go out of its way to tout how little this investment is?
Why does this statement make my spine shiver? - “This investment in fundamental brain science is going to pay off immensely in the future,”
Why am I seeing a link to ObamaCare and the government takeover of health care?
Why do I think this all about controlling people and purifying the gene pool?
Because these people are progressives in the truest tradition of Margaret Sanger, that's why!

I suspect their ultimate goal is to learn how to pull information directly out of your brain. Sounds ridiculous on the surface, but if you think about it they're already developing rudimentary versions of it. Functional MRI scans can show that different parts of the brain activate when an answer is yes vs. no. The concept of the "thought crime" is going to be a literal crime if they get their way.

No, I rather suspect its to weed out people who love liberty. To kill the sheepdogs and leave nothing but wolves and sheep.
After all, its silly people like the FOunders who beleived in liberty in the first place. Get rid of that third and utopia is at hand.

It will make it so much easier to control the population, control breeding, control behavior, control thought. . .
Control, it's always about control.
And yes, undesireables and non-responders will be liquidated.

So they can perfect a Minority Report type society.

Some Poli Sci retard on his staff thought it would make good optics, posing the stuttering clusterfluke next to a sign that says "Brain Initiative" while declaring himself Scientist in Chief. That's all this is, no more, no less.

I suspect it's another slush-fund payoff to a donor.

I think they want to do it now, so they can spin the results in the way they see fit.
The Gay's "I was biologically born this way" masquerade worked so well they'll be looking for more of it.
Polyamorous marriage is currently being talked about . . .

A typical fighting tactic is to square off with your opponent and throw punches. If you land more accurate punches than your opponent, and if you have the stamina to withstand his landed blows, you win. There's an alternate fighting tactic that is popular with those who are marginal in both their stamina and their expertise. It's one where you dart around and dodge and weave and all the while display distractions, deflections, and feints. It's usually interspersed with a few wild (and sometimes dangerous) shots.
A famous example was that of Cassius Clay's "Float like a Butterfly" moves against Foreman. Clay was arguably at the top of his form but up against a powerhouse in Foreman. He chose a strategy of aggressive distraction against the better fighter - and won.
Øbongo is nothing like Ali,but that doesn't mean that he is harmless. Øbongo is trying to wear us out with a barrage of irritating and offensive programs in the hopes that we won't notice the calamitous ones hidden in the mix until it's too late. With the accommodating media that he enjoys, why not?
It isn't like anyone (who matters) is going to call him out is it?

Now that is probably a lot closer to the truth...but I see the darker side in all things now days...I canna hep it!

I can see it being used in any number of ways in this technocratic tyranny unfolding all around us. I've read articles over the past few years talking about such things as the observable brain differences in liberals and conservatives, how the brain responds differently when people are shown photos of people of their own ethnic background versus photos of people of different ethnicities, and so on. I think they want to be able to identify what the Nazis and Soviets generically referred to as "anti-social" people, i.e. "enemies of the people". To their thinking, wouldn't it be grand if you could just subject people to medicalized interrogation without the possibility of one's true feelings and thoughts being obfuscated?
Whatever their goal with this, the one thing you can be certain it's not is the expansion of personal liberty of individual human beings.

The Riddler's Show (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xd63f93Lw8#)
Obama was a little pasty for this shot.

New slogan of our times - "I have not yet begun to be anti-social(ist)!"?

For the other half, yeah. Jeff Foxworthy's "Here's your sign!" comes to mind!
