But ya know..... When you were a kid, weren't you always bummed that there weren't any colors in the box that actually looked like skin color? I mean, c'mon; Peach???

But seriously, what the hell are they gonna call the colors in the box? African-American? Native-American? White-Devil? And who the hell actually looks like the red and orange ones center and center-left? Are those "Ginger-Kid" and "Burn-Victim"?

Really? For some reason I don't remember that one. Maybe I've blocked it from my memory because of all the awful racial overtones associated with naming one particular color in an 80% Caucasian country "flesh". (or would that be hedonistic overtones???)

But again, seriously. Bastidges. Multi-cultural crayons? Multi-cultural? I could understand a full array of flesh-tones. I really could. It is logical to have colors in the crayon box that kids can use to most accurately draw people. But why the hell bring culture into it?

I'll tell you why. $$$, as always, perverted by government. Those who have kids know that at the beginning of every school year parents are given a list of things to buy to supply their kids for the school year. (Increasingly, those supplies are thrown into a community pool and handed out by the teacher - but that is another bitch and I digress). Those supply lists have become VERY specific over the past few years. "8 pack Elmers school-glue stick", "Texas Instruments model 8824TI scientific calculator", "4, 1-inch three ring binders", etc.

Crayola knows that an 8-pack of multi-cultural crayons will be mandated by every school district in the country.
