Here we are in the middle of this shutdown thing and people all over this country are being treated like criminals being run off park lands, water ways and even the ocean. In a recent story, people in Yellowstone were held by armed guards and not allowed to leave their rooms until there bus was escorted from park property. Not to mention the vets in washington.
In case after case, the communists are taking over and no one is taking a stand. These cases are showing up on the internet from time to time but almost no reporting of any of this mistreatment of American citizens in any TV media, not even Fox.
Just once I would like to hear about a bus load of people refusing to leave a park which we the people own.
Where are our patriots ??

Its a learning moment for the remaining few who are not irretrievably narcissistic and ruined. The Govt SHOULDN'T have this sort of power, because it will inevitably ABUSE this sort of power. Jared Polis in my old district announced that some people trust the govt and some do not, implying those that did not were irrational. Now you simply point out the Government is illegally spying on people, using the IRS to persecute dissent, running weapons to our enemies and using Park Rangers as SS troops to punish citizens in a petty political tantrum. Polis of course would not understand a word (but I would love to hold him at gun point and make him answer the question -"Given these things WHY should I trust you or my government?) but anyone listening can see the point.

The bus driver isn't going to be of help --he wants to keep his job. The bus company wants to be able to continue to operate so they will obey. The old people have been trained to think of themselves as old and not capable of leading the charge so they will get angry but not do anything.
Back in the Revolutionary War men who would be considered old today were taking up arms. Today? They just want to make sure they get their SS and drugs.

This is about the 5th time in a week that I've cited this phrase from the Declaration of Independence. I guess in my mind, this simple truism is the only possible explanation for why the citizenry has not turned en masse against this regime. Apparently it's not time yet.

I also think we may tend to view our current circumstances through the historical lens of our Founders and their Revolution, one that was ultimately successful. This is good because it makes a visceral connection with our forebears, but it can also be bad because we only see their Revolution with the benefit of hindsight. We tend to gloss over the fact that they had a lot of the same problems: people who only cared about their self-interest in the here and now and who could never be counted upon, people who agreed in principle but didn't want to put their necks out, people who were actively benefiting from the current regime, and the larger mass who were basically indifferent and would remain docile to whoever ended up in charge.
So many people get their bread buttered with Federal butter, that there's going to be a lot of inertia to overcome. That's why their strategy is to make it so that your bread doesn't get buttered unless it's with Federal butter.
ETA - I see IDP already hit this point. I would add that, IMO, you will not even begin to see a hint of active resistance until the regime has already spilled blood. That will be necessary for decent people to decide that resistance is now morally righteous, and that is something that has the potential to proceed like a preference cascade when it happens.

I think it's time for Ted Cruz to step it up a notch...be the one to cut a cable or two, to chuck a road cone or three, to invite arrest by some Barney Fife type sporting a parks badge.

Its a game of chicken at this point. Call their bluff. When the Brown-shirted Park rangers says obey or I will shoot. You tell him to shoot. Make them use force to remove you. Resist. Bite. Kick. Make sure the pictures and video of your beating are on Twitter 24/7- Why did he do this? Because he refused to be removed from Public Property by thugs who had no right to close it off in the first place ( the only public safety danger being the thugs themselves) That should be the caption under your bruised and bloody face - Public Beaten for the cause of public safety. I bet most libtards are terrified to carry out their threats, just like they would be terrified if they had to come to your house with a gun themselves and force you to pay for their programs or buy a healthcare plan. They always vote for someone else to do that.
Eventually you will get the lefty that goes for it, carries out the violence, and I think at that point, this thing is going to roll, and roll fast. These idiots have built up rage, anger and a firm conviction that mercy is neither desirable nor called for - and the leftist sociopaths need to be taken out. The right is civil, and will bear what is bearable. But you just draw the line and say no more. I will not comply. Make me. We must Make them come to us. Make them do what they threaten. Then all hell will break loose.

IDP is of course correct as well as the rest of you. I cannot fathom why the shooting hasn't yet begun. Don't travel anywhere unarmed, you may need that sidearm at the very least to save you from the regime's Barny Fife type thugs. ::rockets::

Someone like Cruz or Palin should start it. But they won't they want to be politicians because they probably believe they can do more as politicians. They don't want to believe yet that time has passed.

Because we are too prosperous and we really haven't experienced hardship. We know what we are seeing is wrong, but the vast majority is uncertain that it will be visited upon them. Oh, that is them because they are on Federal land, and it will be over in a couple of weeks, and things will be back to normal. Its seen as being able to be suffered, so people suffer it.
People wil start to fight when peole see they have nothing to loose. -- When it becomes obvious that they aren't just kicking people off of Federal Land, but their own. That the difference between your neighbor being targeted and you being targeted is just a matter of time. We here already know it, but the rest of the population needs to catch up. They need to have their savings confiscated by the fed in a bail in. They need to see the prices in Obamacare and experience the website. They need to start worrying if they will have a job or be able to eat instead of what night Honey boo boo is on. Then you will see actual fighting, and probably not before.

I have pinpointed the root cause of my frustration.
There are things I cannot do, write or say (in public places) because I will be labeled a criminal based upon the content of what I would like to see happen as regards political developments in a certain country.
However the ruler of that country violates law, custom & the very Constitution that he swore an oath to uphold…the violation of which is supposed to carry severe penalty & consequence. ::rockethrow::
The frustration lies in watching him do so while I am not able to effectively counter those violations in a tangible way.

Tearing down barricades and defying TPTB in DC.

I don't know if they are our leaders if this show gets on the road or not.

No, its just going to be really really bloody. Till they have the weapons, we can fight back. If they leave us no path to escape ( against Sun Tzu's warning) we will fight all the fiercer, believing this to be our Alamo. We will have every reason to fight, They have only the clarion call of free Shyt- which is useless to them if they die.
It may be too late at this point. It may not It all depends on the exact circumstances, which none can predict. May God tilt the playing field toward liberty, as he did for us before.

Margaret Carlson has an opinion piece at Bloomberg about the low poll numbers for the Republicans. She blames it on the Tea Party. Of course, she does. Any which way she can to discredit the Tea Party. She doesn't understand that Tea Party members hate the GOP!
