His collaboration with classical guitarist Al DiMeola on DiMeola's "Mediterranean Sundance" was my first real exposure to super-shredder acoustic guitarists. For a whole summer when I was about 19 that album never left my tape deck.

Shame I never heard of him. I haven't listened to Al DiMeola since my cassette/LP days. For some odd reason, he didn't make it to my digital library.

This trio was my introduction to the talents of this guy. RIP. The 60's is just too young. :'(
