Title: Some people should not be allowed to own guns
Post by: AlanS on February 28, 2014, 03:14:13 PM: I'm not big on SKS's, but the person who butchered this gun should be tarred and feathered.

The most disgusting thing is that this looks like it might be (or more accurately was) a Norinco Paratrooper. Those are not easy to find because of the Clinton era ban on Chinese imports, and they are also collectable because they were factory made to work with detachable AK magazines.

I'm not sure why so many guys think it is hilarious to give an unsuspecting and small framed woman a gun with heavy recoil. A magnum revolver could really hurt someone who doesn't know how to fire it properly. I've seen people get smacked in the face pretty hard.

I should note I had my facts wrong there. The model that was designed to work with AK mags is the SKS-D, also from China. This one probably just has one of those cheesy aftermarket replacements for the SKS fixed magazine. Never quite got why people go to so much effort to try and turn a SKS into an AK, because it only ends up taking away from the simplicity of the SKS and results in a finicky, less reliable version of an AK.
