Oh, goody, another third world import. No, not Muslims this time but the MERS virus (not that its better). Oh, the fun part, its right here in the town next to my hometown in Northwest Indiana.

Back in August, Walid wrote about the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus. (http://shoebat.com/2013/11/12/deadly-sars-like-virus-caused-drinking-camel-urine/)
At the time, suspicions about the deadly virus coming from camels caused camel meat inspections. Suspicions about what animal the virus comes from may have been validated but how the virus is contracted by humans likely extends beyond camel meat.
... Well, we’re not geniuses but if the owner of a non-deceased camel with MERS has the virus himself, it’s a safe bet he didn’t get sick from the camel being turned into meat (logical, right?). Perhaps the patient should be asked if he ever drank the camel’s urine, which isn’t all that uncommon in Saudi Arabia, where the virus seems to be concentrated.

Asked the NP about a TB vaccine this morning. She said "we (as in The US) don't vaccinate against TB". I'm gonna have to do some more research because I know once upon a time, we did.

Those drugs beat hell out of the liver -- sore and swollen -- and so, simultaneous blood testing is required, which I now realize is why people often don't complete a full course of treatment. And, the medicos are usually not all that thrilled about treating the over-40 with them.
