Here's all you need to know:
... Capt. Grancis Santana, 33, spoke to the paper and asserted that it wasn’t discrimination that was causing a lack of minority officers in key posts — the supply of desired soldiers in his military occupational specialty simply wasn’t there.
“It’s not a good feeling when you’re one of the few,” Capt. Santana told USA Today. “There was no discrimination; there are just not a lot of people like you.”
The paper also noted that of the 238 West Point graduates commissioned to be infantry officers in 2012, only seven were black. One of the Army’s plans for addressing the issue will be to put more emphasis on recruiting and mentoring minority officers.
Coming up: more Affirmative Action for the military.
What I was looking for, and wasn't included in the piece, was the percentage of Blacks in the military. According to other figures I've read, they're underrepresented as a percentage of the total population.
These social engineers aren't going to be happy until there are lotsa Blacks in charge of subordinate Whites.

I think there assertion of overall underrepresentation is fiction, at least in the enlisted ranks I think it is, heck there were tons of minorities in my day, I dooubt it has lessened. As for the officer ranks, well, this gets into the nasty little minefield of resources in the population and their fitness, intelligence and character. I'll leave all that crap alone because like y'all I am not interested in that, if the transformation puts the good and the competent in our midst and fills theirs with deadheads, well, in terms of what we think is going to happen domestically, yeah, probably not a bad thing, and the death convulsions of an empire that was will ensure more and more bodies get thrown away in futile campaigns abroad until the replacement rate drops so bad that taking anybody is the norm and in fact mandatory service comes on line, then morale and everything hits the sh*tter...
A lot of pain between there and now but the progs are leaving history no other options.

That's scary. The "undocumented" soldier won't give a rodent's rectum about the Constitution.

We'll see if this army, like another one from history, is willing to cross the Rubicon.
