Huh, what did he say?   ::facepalm::

And yet, even at this standard, Democrats come up shorter than anybody else...and how many has he excommunicated?  Oh right, that would be zero!

Toughen up, Francis!  Back up your words with action...or just zip it!

You know, "pastor" and "pasture" come from the same root word.  It's supposed to mean shepherding the flock.  I think there's a large and unsatisfied desire for one of these ancient and venerated institutions to stand up and be that shepherd. Instead, they mostly seem interested in currying favor with pop culture, or they worry too much about risking their precious IRS 501(c)(3) status to actually speak unvarnished truths.

All of these politicians who use a church affiliation as the most unbelievably cynical window dressing should be called out.  How do the likes of Pelosi and Biden saunter into a Catholic church and take their communion like they're not moral degenerates who devote their lives to opposing what is taught within that very church? I can't remember the particulars, but there was some controversy not long ago about a priest in the DC area who refused to give communion to a woman in a lesbian "marriage."  He said she was obviously engaged in unrepentant sin and therefore could not have the holy host.

Why isn't there more of this?  Part of this general malaise you hear about is really, IMO, the spirit's dissatisfaction with the relativistic and nihilistic culture of the postmodern West. A lot of people might need help turning the corner of that realization, and that's where the pastor is meant to be the shepherd.

I dunno...

But I bet more people are going to go out and sin like demons...albeit in a non-corrupt manner...

Everything is Awesome!!!

I have to wonder what in creation were they ever thinking  by the election of this pope. Were they all stoned?

The general decline of humanity, aided and abetted by progressive ideology, has no doubt played a key role in many bewildering events...

You know how it is said that people get they government they deserve?  The church (of men) has gotten the pope it deserves.

The Bible has examples of divine punishment taking the form of corrupt, degenerate kings.  It's an especially fitting punishment for a decadent culture, to give them a leader who embodies the most extreme forms of their collective flaws.  I'm not convinced that Obama isn't just such a punishment.

Our whole civilization could use a big dose of humility.  Humanity, at least in the West, is engaged in way too much self-worship.
