When I was a kid I loved this movie.

I don't believe I've ever seen this version. 

You know what was like this story, I can't remember if it was a Twilight Zone or an Outer Limits...probably the former...there was a 1984ish episode where the main protagonist gets hoisted on his own petard, quite enjoyable really, seeing a statist get eaten by their own...you know they're just about cooked (as a power) when that stuff starts to gain steam.

Watched the movie last night. Seemed to stay true to the book, although I enjoyed the book more.

Isn't it usually the case?  Everybody does not see the characters in their mind quite the same way as each other, not to mention how movie moguls might cast them on the silver screen.
