Title: Remote prep storage
Post by: Pandora on May 01, 2011, 08:24:07 PM
In view of the recent spate of tornadoes in TN, AL and right here in NC (not that far away), I've been doing some thinking about remotely locating some preps on that basis and also on the "bug-out" basis.  Although we've determined our best bet in a SHTF scenario is to hunker down on-site, the one event that could force us out would be a twister.

I'm figuring on a climate-controlled storage space.

Anybody have an thoughts to add?

If I lived in that area I'd be thinking about  something buried below ground level.   Something big enough for me and mine.

Off the top, a 750 gal cement septic tank would make a solid liner.
You could first line the ground with sheet plastic to keep out the moisture and make a wooden top?
