The Nation of Patriots Annual Patriot Tour came to town today. A very special American flag travels 14,000 miles and hits all 48 states. All this between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The local event is hosted by the local HOG (Harley Owners Group) and they asked the local Patriot Guard to stand in a flag line for the Flag's arrival. The flag was delivered today by 200 motorcycle enthusiasts...in a pouring rain.
This is the flag the local fire department set up at the entrance.

The Special Flag about half way on it's journey.

And finally, a pic of my grandson in the fire truck.

All in all, it was the BEST 4th of July I have ever experienced.

I'd not heard of this before. Sounds like a great way to spend the day.
Fine young grandson there Alan!

The day was hot with scattered thunderstorms. When the flag enterage was about 5 minutes out, naturally it started a deluge. So I and my brother Patriot Guard members get out in the rain to form the flag line. When the 200 bikes escorting the flag came in, there was nothing but smiles and cheers everywhere. They were soaked on their scooters and we were soaked holding the flags for the flag line, but NOBODY cared. ::USA::
Naturally, after they parked, it quit raining. ::hysterical::
It was just an awesome event.

Sounds like a neat event and I'm glad you were able to spend time with your grandson.
Things were quiet for me. We've had no rain and temps in the 90's for weeks now (very uncharacteristic for June in Seattle) so I spent the day wetting things down for the evenings missile barrage.
There's an indian reservation about a mile and a half away from my place and the put on a huge fireworks display that unhinged all the animals in the neighborhood - they fired off some heavy ordnance.
On to the next thing...

Very cool, Alan. Friends. Family, Freedom & Fun!

Nice. If that is a Cajun trike it's gotta have a hot sauce holder next to the beer holder. ;D
Looks like a swell day had by all. ::thumbsup::
Grandson looks like a happy lad!
It was warm, hazy and humid at our lake...but it did not deter us from joining the boat parade around the lake or launching fireworks into the sky...
Now, if I can just refrain from hurting myself in the process... ::) ::bus::
