Title: Email petition to stop Afghan govt from executing Christian convert
Post by: Dan on February 21, 2011, 09:48:53 PM
You may recall a thread last week or the week before about VMI holding a celebration of some Moslem aggression in Spain centuries ago and how it was being billed as 'outreach' or some such crap.
I expressed my feelings about how I have very mixed emotions regarding what I helped usher in to the country of Kuwait...specifically the subjugation of Christians and Jews.
Well, Afghanistan is set to execute an apostate.
Afghanistan.
The nation we "liberated" and spent time and money on "nation building" in order to, I guess, appease Islam.

There is a form letter which will be e-mailed to SecState Clinton, Spkr Boehner and Ambassador Eikenberry.
I added my take to it...
<snip>
I served in the Army during the First Gulf War and I used to be proud of the fact that I helped liberate a country. Since then, I have come to learn about Islam, and, having seen some of the stories that come out of Kuwait regarding the treatment of Dhimmi in a Moslem society, I have grown to feel like I did not, in fact "liberate" anyone. I simply aided in the subjugation of others at the hands of people who practice an ideology that is anathema to everything we in the West are supposed to cherish.

As I said, I have studied Islam and can say the only difference between a "radical" Moslem and a "Moderate" are the means to the same end. One is simply using demographics.
And you.

This sort of thing absolutely eats away at me. We installed and support that government! Did the idiots in charge not understand what sharia is?

Anyway, without getting into it much more deeply, I think I can safely assume that most of us here feel the same way and respectfully submit this link.

What if the role was reversed.  What if we had a Christian in this country who converted to Islam and as a result was arrested, tried and convicted of apostasy and sentanced to death.  You know damn well there would be the mother of all sh!tstorm's breaking loose!

Slavish devotion to self determination when that self determination takes forms we as a free people detest?  That cannot be allowed to stand.

Thanks for posting this Dan and providing the link.  This man deserves to be saved, otherwise we are only helping to kill him.

I'm not asking you to help me atone for anything, but as Mr. Infinito points out, this man deserves to be saved...

Sorry, Danny; should have responded.

Done.

But ....

... it isn't going to matter what WE say; it will matter what the UN sez and as far as I know, they ain't sayin'.

Thanks Pan.
And even though things like this are a long shot, they do get results on occasion, I think.
And the UN...yeah, worthless. The HRC is all about "freedom to worship", so long as that begins and ends w/ allah.
