The American Bar Association (ABA) has decided to undertake the fight for Sharia law. (http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/02/the_abas_jihad.html)
The ABA's Executive Counsel "has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states -- Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming -- in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced."
The goal of the ABA's Task Force is to fight against these legislative initiatives by free people, and to develop "an informal set of ‘talking points' that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states."
Here's the relevant extract from the ABA's International Policies 2010:
Insert ::gaah:: smilie here.
Every institution subverted by the left and now infiltrated by islam supremacists.

How can any lawyer possibly argue on behalf of an alternative legal system that by its very nature is antithetical to constitutional law?
Are they prepared to begin allowing stonings, chopping off hands, and killing homosexuals, or do they plan on only allowing the "good" parts of Sharia law?
Jesus Christ. And I mean that in a "help us because I don't know what the world is coming to" way, not a "taking the Lord's name in vain" way.

I believe it is time for rational lawyers to quit the ABA.

I believe it is time for rational lawyers to quit the ABA.
Most have, according to a few of the American Thinker commenters. Just like the majority of rational MDs have left the AMA.
-
I take it that the original talking point
Why are you people getting so exercised about something that has no chance of happening in this country
is null and void, now that the ABA is working on a new set of talking points about how the ABA working for this to happen, is good.
Or something?

Or something.

Yeah but think of all the great new lawyer jokes it'll spark:
"What d'ya call 20,000 lawyers, brutally beheaded, & their torsos burned beyond recognition...???

A good start! :D :D :D

A good start! :D :D :D
I was thinking a SLOOOOOW start!!
-
Lets stone the damned lawyers first and then ask them what they think of Sharia!
If they still get it wrong, escalate the punishment!
-
Don't these groups understand what the "American" part of their org names means?
-
They're running as fast as possible to catch up with Europe.
They don't seem to realize that Europe isn't doing too well these days.

IDP, they do it because they don't think it would ever happen to them, and they are for anything that would destroy the American way of life.

ABA has been taken over by the Cloward-Piven crowd.
Just more Domestic Enemies to add to the list!

Frontpage magazine has been at the forefront of these stories noting that the Saudis have infested or invested, take your choice, in many law schools like Harvard, Georgetown and many many more. What took them so long?
It's not as if they have a clue at what their advocating being that the majority have their asses crammed up their ass. For way to long now people have assumed that lawyers are smart people and it's simply not true. Half of them are dumb as rocks. Have you seen the make up of Congress? President usurper Obamakov?
Rest my case. ;D

Memory and intelligence are not synonymous.
An M.D. once said, "we know how he graduated med school but how he got out out of high school (you had to think back then) we can't imagine".

The worst part of being a piece of leftist, terrorist enabling trash, is to always have to run away from your very being.
The goal of the Task Force is to have a Report and Recommendation against such legislation as well as an informal set of "talking points" that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states.
That would be, in the ABA's name.
The actions of a few interested members within one section are not and cannot be interpreted to be those of the entire American Bar Association. Claims to the contrary are erroneous.
No, airhead, they do, when the ABA's name is attached to such. It doesn't matter how many members work on it.
Don't be cowards. Embrace your being. Don't run like pussies, faster than you can say "Wisconsin Democrat."
-
I'll be on the lookout for their "talking points", knowing from where they come.

CO, that occurred to me years ago, too. Regurgitating the lesson isn't the same as applying it in the appropriate instance.
