Metaxas is a major player in the field of Christian Apologetics & Christian Theological History. As an introduction to him as an author, I'd recommend '7 Men' (https://www.amazon.com/Seven-Men-Secret-Their-Greatness/dp/071808778X/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=7+men+Metaxas&qid=1576981963&sr=8-1), which gives brief biographical sketches of George Washington, William Wilberforce, Eric Liddell, Dietrich Bonheffer, Jackie Robinson, Pope John Paul II & Charles Colson.
