In a town not too far away at a time not too far past there was a cage made of flat iron on the front lawn at the court house. The town had no jail except for the cage which was used to house occasional drunks or persons otherwise gone estray. It was built close to the sidewalk to allow passersby to view the miscreant and share their opinion with him. The town ladies seemed to especially enjoy this.
