Title: Last original Lynyrd Skynyrd member, Gary Rossington, 71

These guys were so dang consequential. They define Southern Rock to this day. The entirety of what modern “Country” music has evolved into (for better or worse) has Lynyrd Skynyrd to thank (along with The Eagles). RIP Gary Rossington.

He hadn't been with the band since they came back after Wuflu was over, so they've already been touring without him.  I wonder if it continues.  Van Zant's been singing for over 30 years, now, and Medlocke can trace his time back before their first album, albeit as a drummer.

Rossington didn't have an easy time of it, that's for sure.

RIP

Yeah he had endured a lot.  And the impact of the band on American music and history cannot be denied.
