I just got off the phone with our best friend and his wife also our best friend for over 30 years and she is in the hospital with stage three ovarian cancer. She went to the doctor today with what she thought was a pulled muscle and got hit with this and went right to the hospital she had tests run and it may have involved other parts of her body,they thing the liver may be involved but aren't certain at this point.
Surgery is scheduled for Wed.

Got the wife calmed down and she took a sleeping pill and it's over for tonight.But it's gonna be ugly for a while.

My grandmother was taken by that very same disease in the mid-70's. I hope treatments have improved in the intervening years. It remains one of the strongest reasons I give a portion of my financial contributions to cancer related research organizations (among others).
My prayers are with your friend and to all who know her. There will be some trying times ahead.

She's hanging in and treatment has started and it's going to be about 22 months before the treatment ends if nothing else happens.So it's a week to week deal.We just keep praying and hope is alive.Thanks for asking.

My fingers are crossed for the best possible outcome, JF.
This sort of thing...it always makes me appreciate the sun on my face, the rain on my head, and teh sound of my kids in my ears.
When its not tragic, life's pretty good. It's a shame it takes something like this to make people appreciate it sometimes.

All I can say is "hang in there." It's tough for everyone in these situations. We have some friends from church, who have a young son with lymphoma AND leukemia. He was diagnosed a couple of years ago, when he was ten, and he's been through the mill with treatments, and it's been hell on him and his family, but through their faith they are, well...."hanging in there." And the prognosis for him is GOOD.
Praying that your friend will fare as well. God be with all of you during this difficult time.
