I don't see how any of these guys measure up to Cain in the 10 minutes allotted for each speaker to make his impression.
Big Night in Iowa for Five Presidential Hopefuls (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/03/07/big_night_in_iowa_for_5_presidential_hopefuls_109135.html)
As the 2012 presidential campaign begins to heat up after a sluggish winter, the stakes are high for the five prospective Republican candidates who will address a large crowd of GOP activists at the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition forum on Monday night.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain and former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer will have just 10 minutes each to make an impression on the crowd of several hundred expected to gather for the event in Waukee, just west of Des Moines.
The forum will mark the first time that multiple prospective 2012 contenders will share a stage in the nation's first voting state, and former Iowa Republican Party executive director Chuck Laudner said that the risks and incentives for each of them would be significant.
"If you stumble, it could very well be the end. It's that big," Laudner said. "When they're standing on the same stage and one of them doesn't measure up, they're probably not going to rebound to win support later on. So the one that wins the day takes a huge step forward. If there's 500 people in the room, and 250 say, ‘Yeah, I can support that guy,' you're one step forward to winning the Iowa caucuses."

The program will start promptly at 6:15 in the church sanctuary. Point of Grace is a superb facility that will accommodate a large crowd. There is seating for up to 800 people.

Apparently live on C-Span (http://ffciowa.com/)

I like Cain. At least what I have heard him say so far. Plus he has a record of actual accomplishments. That's called a "contrast."

When you look at the rest of the guest list - Gingrich, Pawlenty, Santorum, and Roemer - I just don't see how Herman Cain does not emerge from that field with a tangible buzz.
-
I cast a vote in his direction in a heartbeat.

With that line up? Cain should be the nominal front runner!

We should live blog that!

We should live blog that!
That's a great idea John. Unfortunately I've got commitments for that part of the evening, but anyone is free to do that.
Also, if we use the chat feature this software keeps a record, so that may be an even better method of live-blogging in real time. We could live-blog in real time and then copy-paste into a post if it seems worth it.

I hate to say this but I think Obama has ruined the chances of another black man in the White House for at least another generation . Would that Herman Cain had preceeded him .

Guilt by association? :o Based upon race? :o In 21st century America? ::doh::
Oh, from the left or mushy middle! Yeah, I'd buy that! With those we are talking about mental midgets after all! ::)

I guess I disagree sectionhand. If the American people blame Obama's failure on his Blackness, then you may be right. But I don't believe that anyone thinks he sucks because he's Black. He's a Black guy who sucks.
We are a nation that judges men by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. In our effort to prove it, we elected a man based on the color of his skin. I don't think the American people will make that same mistake again. If Cain is the best qualified, I don't think there's a problem with him being the nominee, and after all, if he is the nominee, people will have a choice between TWO Black dudes. They'll have to choose between right and wrong, good and evil, and leave the skin color BS behind.
-
Last election, a bunch of beat down, guilt ridden crackers, brainwashed into believing they are racist, voted the color of the skin and not the content of the character.
This election cycle, the color of ones skin will not matter. Traits like character, strength, integrity and beliefs will trump ones color. Cracker will vote colorblind.
Mr Cain may or may not get the nomination nod.....but his skin color will play no part.
Mrs. Palin may or may not get the nomination nod....but her gender will play no part.
The only group(s) where gender and color will matter will ooze from the true racists, race baiters and haters. The true dividers of this nation. The true groups where color, gender matters......

I sincerely hope you're right . You certainly have more faith in human nature than I do . I still wish that Cain had come along in 2008 .
