More from the theater of the absurd...
...this time, from Oregon.
A rural Oregon man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in jail and over $1,500 in fines because he had three reservoirs on his property to collect and use rainwater.
Gary Harrington of Eagle Point, Ore., says he plans to appeal his conviction in Jackson County (Ore.) Circuit Court on nine misdemeanor charges under a 1925 law for having what state water managers called “three illegal reservoirs” on his property – and for filling the reservoirs with rainwater and snow runoff.

This one of those situations where bureaucratic overreach is so offensive that everyone involved in the attempt to enforce this law should be tarred and feathered.

Don't forget the rail! ;)

Tied to a rail line.

Jeepers.
Out here they are, technically, stock tanks and commonly referred
to as tanks unless you want to sell to a city folk then it's referred
to as a pond.

Yep. I have to steal the water that runs off my own roof. ::facepalm::

Gary Harrington, the Oregon man convicted of collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his rural property surrendered Wednesday morning to begin serving his 30-day, jail sentence in Medford, Ore.
This will only get worse until such a time as a whole community stands up against it. As 'right' as this guy is, his 'sacrifice' means nothing because very few are standing by him.

Yep. I have to steal the water that runs off my own roof. ::facepalm::
But I'm only "stealing" it for long enough to water my garden - the rest works it's way downstream in any event.

If that's the case, you're just borrowing it. Look for the guv to charge rent on usage....
