My brother and I won our tournament on lake Barkley in Kentucky. Had 21.43 lbs and earned us our largest payday to date, 1600.00 for the win and 7000.00 from triton boats.

Yea, I'm buying ammo.

8 hours and 15 minutes is not a lot of time...and I'm guessing the early morning is probably prime time...

Of course, I get 1099'ed..... ::moneyshaker:: Which is ok because I now write off all my fishing expenses. It is my 2nd job. Everyone should have two jobs.

Being a bean counter I wondered about that, at least you get to expense a little and the additional net income hopefully doesn't generate much of a higher income tax bite.  At least they haven't gotten around to taxing braggin' rights...yet!

Way to go Don,  did you wear the Triton Boats jerseys while you were on the water or did they give them to you after the win?

We must wear the jersey on the water. It's a program named "Triton Gold". Costs 100.00 to join the program, they send the jerseys, hats, stickers for truck and boat. If you win in a Triton boat that is two years old or less, it is a 7K payday. After the boat becomes older than 2 years, it pays 500.00.

If anyone is familiar with Kentucky/ Barkley lakes, they are connected by waterway at the upper end.....both lakes are huge, over 100 miles long and are part of the Tennessee waterways.

We were all over fish on Ky lake. Not so much on Barkley. We made a 170 mile roundtrip run to fish our spots on Ky Lake. 4 hours of our 8 hours of fishing were behind the wheel. It's not like driving your car down the road. We get to our Ky lake spot and in 1/2 hour have our 21 lbs. After that it was more keeping our catch alive and frankly, fun fishing.

We've been catching 18- 24 lbs out of this particular area for several weeks. The only time it did not produce over 18 lbs was our triton tournament, where over 300 teams competed. We caught 16.5 lbs on day 1 and 15.5 on day 2, finishing 55th. ( it paid 500.00).

The only downside is Ky lake is two hours from my house.....but always worth the trip.
