Title: Home school atletics
Post by: AlanS on November 15, 2013, 05:32:00 PM
I never knew. (http://www.katc.com/news/qb-broussard-named-national-home-school-player-of-the-year/)

Quote
A local football player has claimed one of the nation's top honors for home school athletes.

Russell Broussard of the Acadiana Home School Commandos has been named the 2013 National Player of the Year by the National Home School Football Championship Series. Broussard passed for more than 1,100 yards and rushed for more than 1,000 yards during the season.

The Commandos, who finished the regular season with a 6-4 record, will take part in next week's national home school tournament in Panama City, Florida.

Congrats, Russell! ::cool::

Well the media certainly won't cover it.  The media are union and these families obviously are not supporting teachers' unions by homeschooling.

For the record, I've never heard of the National Home School Football Championship Series, either.  Insidious, isn't it?

Yep. Me, too. That's why I posted it. I guess if it wasn't a local player, it would never be in the news.
