The highlighted ones I find hard to believe. And New Orleans didn't make the list?
-
That list, IMO, includes far too many small cities to be useful. I also wonder about the methodology. Ft. Myers, Florida ranked higher than Washington DC?
-
Although Pittsburgh is fairly safe, in general, for big cities, I was a little surprised that there were 100 more dangerous.
I was also surprised that Philly was only 50.
I would have thought much higher

Chicago is a war zone. Abductions, murders, robberies, holdups, rapes, smash and grab, hijacking, hit and run, you name the crime, it's there in spades. It used to be just on the south side, but it's spread throughout the city, even in the "good" neighborhoods.

I have family in Danville, so was curious...
http://www.city-data.com/crime/crime-Danville-Illinois.html (http://www.city-data.com/crime/crime-Danville-Illinois.html)
Looks like lower profile crime are included. Danville exceeds the national average in about everything except murder, it seems. Rape is way high.

Too much based upon population and what gets reported out by Fedcoats, methinks there are a number of violent acts being omitted to make sh*tholes seem less sh*tholely...
And get a load of this!
http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/school-district/ratings/top100/ (http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/school-district/ratings/top100/)
The preponderance of libiot enclaves and wealthier suburbs in this list indicates a decided bias towards well-funded schools. Try to implement common cost controls across all public education and then compare results on an apples to apples basis and see how it comes out!
I know some of these schools...their poop don't all smell like roses!
