Romney Veep List
« on: June 04, 2012, 08:00:19 AM »
We should perhaps get a sticky topic on this until the selection is made, then make a sticky thread for POTUS stakes.

Anyway, here is a name floated I had not seen before.

Rob seems a sharp fellow, but his history of trying to work with dem's troubles me, I dunno...would like to see someone who can motive conservatives to show up on election day...even if they have to show up pickled...

Heard someone on the radio, Friday, crying out BOOOORRRRIIINNNNGGG.  Same with a Pawlenty pick.  Saying Rubio, Christie, Daniels need to be the top 3.

We'll see.

So, we have an ineligible neo con, a blue dog democrat and a technocrat.

Boy, that list excites me

I'm with ya. Particularly Christie. All we need (not) is a man with all the passion in the world we've been screaming for every election cycle since Reagan, whose vehement passion is Rinoism. My main complaint against Rinos outside of ideology is a lack of passion, commitment, principles, conviction, and fighting spirit. Christie lacks none of these. His focus directed toward moving the party Leftward could undo a hefty chunk (pun intended) off the Rightward movement accomplished by the Tea Party.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Portman's okay . He's well liked by the Republican Establishment here in Ohio . I don't think though that he'd do much one way or the other toward swinging Ohio to Romney . The more I think about it I'm liking John Thune . He , at least , can beat Stymie in basketball .  ::thinking::

Romney's transition chief will be involved in the decision for veep so here is some grist for the mill: Mike Leavitt is a very big supporter of O'BongoCare. Ugh.

Quote
Mike Leavitt, former Governor of Utah and HHS Secretary Under George W. Bush, is heading up planning for Mitt Romney's transition effort should Romney win.

It turns out he's a big supporter of ObamaCare and has been fighting to have states implement the "exchanges" which are the mechanism the federal government will use to regulate personal insurance once the law is fully in force.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

The good news is that it's already far too late to avoid the iceberg, so regardless of which particular jackass sits in the Oval Office next year, this ship is going to the bottom.

I guess it's sort of like cancer treatment.  Chemo and radiation nearly kill the patient in their own right, but it's the only shot at killing the cancer first.
