Excellent musician.
While I never cared for his music, I could appreciate his picking skills.
RIP, Roy.
Same here.
One of the few prejudices I picked up from my father was a disdain for the country bumpkin stereotype that was popularized in Hee Haw. I believe it came from the fact that he was born into the wilds of Montana and raised himself up by his own bootstraps. He was chagrined to watch the characters on that show. As a consequence of the soft bias I had little interest in the show or in country music.
As I got older and my horizons expanded I came to revisit performers like Glenn Campbell and Roy Clark and my appreciation for their talent was raised.
Rest in peace Roy
