The lack of media pointing out the obvious is a glaring irresponsibility. The fact of the matter is that every one of these people, from Warren Buffet on down, could cut a check to the IRS for whatever amount they feel compelled to give to the government for redistribution. But not one of them is called on to put their money where their mouth is. The reality is that they do not advocate higher taxes for themselves because they wish to pay more. They advocate higher taxes on everybody else, because they wish government to take more and redistribute more. Just like Warren Buffet, their relative wealth and comfort gives them a lofty perch from which to advocate for socialism, because they already own unassailable wealth of which they are willing to rhetorically offer a portion in order to compel government to confiscate and redistribute more.
If they REALLY want to have the impact they are pretending to want, they need to break out the checkbook, and lead by example.
