Patriotic millionaires...
« on: November 18, 2011, 09:00:42 AM »
On Fox news this morning I watched a short clip of some of the patriotic millionaires who are campaigning for higher taxes for millionaires refuse time and time again to give money to the Treasury dept when given the opportunity.  Is there a video of this anywhere?  How hypocritical is this?

The lack of media pointing out the obvious is a glaring irresponsibility. The fact of the matter is that every one of these people, from Warren Buffet on down, could cut a check to the IRS for whatever amount they feel compelled to give to the government for redistribution. But not one of them is called on to put their money where their mouth is. The reality is that they do not advocate higher taxes for themselves because they wish to pay more. They advocate higher taxes on everybody else, because they wish government to take more and redistribute more. Just like Warren Buffet, their relative wealth and comfort gives them a lofty perch from which to advocate for socialism, because they already own unassailable wealth of which they are willing to rhetorically offer a portion in order to compel government to confiscate and redistribute more.

If they REALLY want to have the impact they are pretending to want, they need to break out the checkbook, and lead by example.

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Also, the crony capitalists would like to make more money...if more pay in taxes, government spends more, and a lot of that spending finds it way back into the outfits controlled by these crony capitalists, further lining their pockets!  So for the Buffett's of the world, their share of higher taxes is offset by more income...it is a positive ROI for them, it's the rest of us that get drilled in the ass!  I hate these phony POS's!

They refuse to give voluntarily because it isn't about them paying higher taxes. That is cover to make the unwashed masses (you and me) think, 'Oh how nice! They really want to help!'. In other words, to garner sympathy and support for the real reason these people are supporting 'higher taxes of millionaires'. Look at them all, they're all liberals...it's about forwarding their liberal/socialist programs to redistribute the wealth, it has nothing to do with fairness in any way, shape or form.
