No more twinkies

Quote
Hostess may be going out of business. The folks from the snack company, which filed for bankruptcy in January, annoucned yesterday that they may be shutting their doors for good. Top executives say they considered shutting down all of the factories when they filed for bankruptcy, and that is still under consideration if they cannot emerge from this. The tasty snack company currently has factories in 21 Indiana cities employing about 850 people. The company filed notice with the state saying they could start shutting down factories within the next 60 days.

I wasn't ever much of a fan but it's one of those things that everyone knows about even if they don't personally use it. I did have a deep fired twinkie sundae once.  Tasted like a donut.  Ate two bites and I was done.  Too sweet is an understatement.

Well LV, on the bright side (always look for that silver lining I tells ya!), with an infinite self life, people should still be able to enjoy their twinkies for the next 100 +/- years, or as long as the current stock holds out!  ::thumbsup::

On a side note - I think I like 'Tiger tales' more than twinkies. For those that don't know what they are: LINK

The sad thing is one union cost 18,700 company jobs, plus all the peripheral jobs associated with the plants.  The unemployment bomb continues to go off.

All I can say is that now after the idiots voted for OwebamaCare, Free Sh-t and increased taxes, I'm becoming a bit more evil and cynical, if that's possible:  Let it burn!  It's going to hurt one way or the other.  Better to rip the scab off (pun intended) and get the pain over with as quickly as possible.

On the radio news this afternoon I heard a report with a clip of an employee who said he was glad his union voted against the company because the company had asked for too many concessions in the past.  Well, he and his union buddies showed them didn't they?  Now no jobs.  But what do they care.  They can act like they did something noble while collecting unemployment for the next 99 weeks.....................

This is pretty good!

I was just thinking this morning that Hostess shutting its doors is more representative of what "Going Galt" looks like in the real world, outside of Ayn Rand.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Yep.  The Owebama nation strikes again.  Pun intended?  You decide.

I don't know what to say about this that hasn't already been said. It's a sorry tale without a happy ending. No happy ending possible.

Just another gift from your friendly neighborhood O'bamaVoters.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

They own Drake's cakes as well.  Drake's used to make a kick-ass Coffee Cake.

Gonna miss those Devil Dogs.
