Orange, Massachusettes - No drawings of US flag allowed!

Another one for the multi-culti/diversity/pc cult file!

http://www.wwlp.com/dpp/news/local/franklin/Controversy-over-child's-flag-drawing

In my day, somebody tell me I can't do something...I'd do it big!

This kid should show up dressed in nothing but red, white & blue!

We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.

I read all this yesterday, and I'll be the odd one out and say, "I ain't buying it."  This school says they fly the flag.  That they pledge allegiance.  They also say (and usually schools don't say anything due to sue happy American parents) that the kid was supposed to be doing something else, when he was drawing.

I find the school believable, in this case.

There are more than a few, "Junior does no wrong" kind of parents in this country.

On the other hand some of the commenters said it was in art class, during free draw.

The whole thing just doesn't add up yet, either way, to me.

Yeah, I was always drawing when I should have been paying attention in class. I never was creative enough to blame my attention deficit on the diversity crowd.

Oh, to be 8 years old again . . .

I remember events that happened when I was very, very young. When my mother was going to the hospital to give birth to my brother (who was born 3.5 years after me), I remembered that she had done this before with my sister, who is 18 months younger than I.

Some of my friends have no recollection at all of their pre-school days. I feel sad for them. I can remember practically the entire kindergarten years, including the first day at class when I was 4.

Then again, some of my friends remember the batting average of major league players for every year of their career.

My dad was an enthusiastic amateur photographer. So there are lots of pictures of us kids growing up. Every once in awhile the family would get together. sit down with popcorn, and do Family Slideshow Night. I noticed an interesting thing - my younger brother & sister would "remember" things that they were too young to recall. I called it Tribal Memories because they were memories that were communally shared and repeated in these gatherings.

This is one of my favorites (and I remember the trip even though I was maybe six):

I remember my youth in Sicily(parts of it) and all of it is based around my grand parents. My Older cousin and nothing about his younger brother and sister. I can still hear my grandfathers voice in my head.My mothers father nothing! Some things about my parents and kindergarten. I only went to first grade but I do remember my teachers name and that he took my little bike for a ride in the school court yard the outraged me for day on after.

I think I'm still pissed about it now that I think about it.

Great picture Soup you should have that enlarged and hanging in the house in a place of honor.
