OMG! People are gonna die!... the government of the state of Oregon recently did something horrible – they passed a law allowing Oregonians to pump their own gas!
“I’ve lived in this state all my life and I REFUSE to pump my own gas. I had to do it once in California while visiting my brother and almost died doing it. This a service only qualified people should perform. I will literally park at the pump and wait until someone pumps my gas. I can’t even,” -Mike Perrone
He almost died! These snowflakes are killin' me.
“I don’t even know HOW to pump gas and I am 62, native Oregonian…..I say NO THANKS! I don’t want to smell like gasoline!” – Sandy Franklin
The comments are interesting; this one is also informative:
"From the article:
“Oregon is currently one of two states that does not allow customers to pump their gas.
A law passed by the Legislature in May and signed into law by Gov. Kate Brown in June will allow Oregon counties with 40,000 residents or less to deviate from that.” THIS is what PortLandians are squeeling about? It doesn’t even APPLY to the Cities! AND the law does not ABOLISH Full Serve! It merely removes the BAN on Self Serve! Get a REAL issue, Haters….or rather, a LIFE! LOL!!!!!"
The fun never stops.

YEARS AGO A FRIEND OF MINE WAS PREVENTED FROM PUMPING HER OWN GAS IN OREGON. SHE WAS TOLD GAS WAS AN HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE AND SHE DIDN’T HAVE THE TRAINING TO HANDLE IT: She then pointed out she was going to use the guestroom and was she cleared to handle her own urine? Which was, of course, rude, but also very apropos.
There is one state left where self-pumping is still illegal -- NJ. It was very liberating when we moved to CA and then to NC to be able to fill up quicker and get going. Incidentally, NJ gas stations rarely have roofing-type structures over the pumps, so weather exposure is a bit of an issue there.
