Just another step in the takeover. It's why I go ballistic over the whole homo situation. I don't care how you want to live your life, but I'm forced to take a stand against that principle when cajoled, now forced thru law, to accept your behavior as moral and acceptable. According to the education minister, anyone that disagrees with homosexuals is homophobic. Nah, shed's not a bigot or anything. Fvcking liberals make me puke.

Full disclosure: I'm not a Catholic.

In Washington state we had a referendum "vote of confidence" regarding degenerating the meaning of marriage to include homosexuals. The popular vote was 72% against. Fairly clear, wouldn't you say? Last fall the state legislature voted to approve legalized homo "marriage" - against the expressed will of the people. Shamefully, a man I helped get elected and a professed conservative voted (with three other Republicans) in favor of passage. The leftist governor slavered at the prospect of signing it and did so with great relish.

In the wake of its passage there has been talk and some effort at an initiative effort to overturn the legislation. Yesterday the most prominent Catholic churches in the area declined to take part in the initiative signing process.

I don't get it. This is the crossroads folks. This is where fashion and piety take separate paths. You cannot have both, not on this subject. This is a time for leadership and clear statements of principle.

And the authorities within the church voted "present".

This is too weird that the Catholics are split on how much the government should be responsible for. I grew up Catholic but left when I was in my early 20s. There were things that I disagreed with the church on. Most were minimal disagreements. Heck even today I'm more Catholic than Most Catholic. I just don't get it. If there are so many doctrines and beliefs that Catholics disagree with then why call yourself a Catholic. I feel that within a few years, if the Church keeps giving their blessings to the government, they will be nothing but a governmental church like they have in China.
