Hercules versus Obama

ADF attorneys file suit against administration’s ‘abortion pill’ mandate on behalf of Denver’s Hercules Industries

Quote
Because the company, Hercules Industries, would be required to begin offering the new coverage when its self-insured plan renews on Nov. 1, the case is one of the only ones in the nation requesting a court order that would halt the mandate within the next three months.

“The government shouldn’t punish people of faith for making decisions in accordance with their faith,” said ADF Legal Counsel Matt Bowman. “Every American should know that a government with the power to do this to anyone can do this--and worse--to everyone. The abortion pill mandate unconstitutionally coerces the leadership of Hercules Industries to violate their religious beliefs and consciences under the threat of heavy fines and penalties. That is simply not acceptable in America.”

There should be hundreds of these lawsuits.

There should be hundreds of these lawsuits.

There should be so many that it would have to be a class action situation frankly. I'm glad to see this - but thoroughly disheartened because there should be so many more...

This is very good in that thus far, the focus has been on the regime's violation of religious liberty against a religious institution. The reality is, every American citizen enjoys the exact same constitutional liberty. The religious liberty violation is not just about the church, it's about us all. This places the focus where it should be.

I forget the term, is it "amicus" breif?  Supporters in the same boat could file along with this company.  And it should be expedited, but I suspect no chance of that until the current case is disclosed this summer.  But if the current case doesn't strike down this abomination in total, then all companies are up the creek.

Many companies are waiting I think instead of sticking out their necks and getting noticed.
