An illegal immigrant applying for a law license in California should be allowed to receive it, the State Bar of California argues in a filing to the state Supreme Court. Sergio Garcia, 35, of Chico, Calif., has met the rules for admission, including passing the bar exam and the moral character review, and his lack of legal status in the United States should not automatically disqualify him, the Committee of Bar Examiners said Monday. http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/06/19/12298380-california-bar-illegal-immigrant-should-get-law-license?threadId=3445769&commentId=67211566#c67211566

If they made being an illegal immigrant a felony that would take care of a lot of these nit pickity problems.

There's an out right lie in the store and here it is:
"Garcia's father is a naturalized citizen, according to the bar, and Garcia is waiting for a visa that would give him legal permanent residency."

Well, 'splain? If it's true that his father has his citizenship papers there is no way it would take years for him to become legal. He would have been a minor when his father got his green card and would have been granted a green card automatically. If it happened and I don't believe this version to be correct but if he tried to come here later when his father had been granted citizenship he would have been here in the matter of months not years. So the whole story is a lie!!either his father is still an illegal or he isn't the person he claims to be IE his son.

He can practice law in his native land. Then, find the father and review his status and act accordingly. See how easy things are when you follow the law?

Oh come on, people. It's not like Sergio is here to do anything important, like working in a meat plant or landscaping. He's a just a lawyer for God's sakes. As such we don't need any standards or background checks as we do for the previous two IMPORTANT occupations.

Ten to one he'll turn right around and use it to wage lawfare against the Constitution and our sovereignty.
