Those people don’t have any vision about what the government can do. That’s been a real inhibitor in our ability to think outside the box and think big,” he said.
No, the obama administration and democrats in general are not about big gov't......
We the Gov't By the Gov't For the Gov't

He's probably still fantasizing about what he could have really done to Toyota if only we were as enlightened as Communist China. I swear, I never thought I would see the day where high up officials in the US government openly pine for dictatorial authority. I knew many of them harbored such ambitions, but some line has been crossed for them to openly lament that we don't give them enough individual power. The forces of tyranny are more emboldened each day.

Yup. Hiding it used to be a prime tenet. Either Obama has emboldened them, or he is a product of on overall emboldening of the Left.

Ray LaHood of "high speed rail": “It is a way to coerce people out of their cars."He's a confirmation of exactly what we've come to know about "Republicans" in general; that any of them wear an "R" after their names is not reason enough to believe there is a significant difference in how and what they think than any one with a "D" instead. They get elected or appointed, go to DC and swim in the rarified atmosphere created by people who are used to playing with enormous amounts of money, with almost unlimited authority to f**k with people's lives; the will to power gives them the conviction that since they can, they must. To wit: “And the only person that I've heard of that objects to this is George Will. Check out Newsweek magazine,” said LaHood.
Lahood then made a joke about the fact that some conservatives believe that the way he wants to use the Department of Transportation represents an increased government intrusion in people’s lives.
“Some conservative groups are wary of the livable communities program, saying it's an example of government intrusion into people's lives,” said the moderator. “How do you respond?”
“About everything we do around here is government intrusion in people's lives,” said LaHood. “So have at it.”

My doctor told me to start killing people. Not in those exact words, she said I had to reduce the stress in my life.
Same thing.
