It's not the mother's first loss of a child to violence. West said her 18-year-old son, Shaun Glassey, was killed in New Jersey in 2008. She still has a newspaper clipping from the time.

Glassey was killed with a steak knife in March 2008 during an attack involving several other teens on a dark street corner in Gloucester County, N.J., according to news reports from the time.

"He and some other boys were going to ambush a kid," Bernie Weisenfeld, a spokesman for the Gloucester County prosecutor's office, told the AP Friday.

Glassey was armed with a knife, but the 17-year-old target of the attack was able to get the knife away from him "and Glassey ended up on the wrong end of the knife," Weisenfeld recalled.

She lost her first kid when the target of the Knockout game fought back.  Trash all around.

Woman accused of using ambulances for free rides


DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Live 5 News investigation has uncovered alleged ambulance abuse in Dorchester County.
 
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old Audrey Ferguson of the Dorchester community has called EMS at least 100 times in the last seven years.
 
Investigators say Ferguson was faking illness, just to get a free ride to downtown Charleston.
 
Officials say just about every time she asked to be taken to a hospital.

I've called an ambulance once, and been transporte two other times, all necessary.  Of corse, my parents and I footed the bill, whatever insuance didn't cover.  After Medicare insurance, I had to pay $200.
 
"She'll have a vague medical complaint, for instance abdominal pain," said Dorchester County EMS Director Doug Warren. "She has medical complaints that are legitimate, and so until she's been evaluated and determined not to be sick we have to assume she is."
 
Soon medics saw a disturbing pattern and got suspicious.
 
Ferguson apparently never even went into the hospital to get treated.
 
Instead she told hospital officials she was okay and left.
 
"We transport her to one of the area hospitals and then oftentimes before we can get our paperwork completed she's signed out from the hospital and gone on to do other things," said Warren.
 
Warren called the sheriff's office and asked for an investigation.
 
The detective assigned to the case said he wanted to be contacted the next time Ferguson called for an ambulance.
 
On Apr. 2, investigators said Ferguson's free rides came to an end. A Dorchester County deputy was waiting at Trident Medical Center for an ambulance carrying Ferguson.

According to an incident report, he heard her call her son, saying she needed a ride. He also heard her tell a nurse that she wasn't ill, that she was actually feeling fine and that she was leaving.
 
Ferguson did leave...in handcuffs.  She was taken to the Dorchester County jail.
 
On the way to jail, Ferguson told a deputy why she called for an ambulance so many times.
 
According to the incident report, Ferguson said she didn't have a car and this was the only way she had to get around and Medicaid paid for it anyway. It was part of her benefits.
 
And all of those ambulance trips taken by Ferguson?
 
Each one costs $425, plus mileage.
 
Officials say what Medicaid doesn't pay, taxpayers will have foot the rest of the bill, more than $400,000.

Warren says taxpayers should be angry. "Absolutely, and that's part of the investigation that's ongoing with the sheriff's office," he said.
 
Warren has one other big worry.
 
"That truck from Harleyville is tied up responding to this situation where we appear to have abuse of the system, that may delay our response to someone that has a more significant or more pressing need and it concerns me."

Ferguson is charged with unlawful use of 911 and filing a false police report. The investigation is continuing.

Nothing like that entitlement mentality.  I sincerely hope she's given more than a slap on the wrist.  She needs serious prison time, and the cutting off of her 'benefits', including housing.  Screw her.  I know, won't happen.

I'd like to ask those 'officials' just who the fukc they think pays for Medicaid?  The government is not a profit center that pays for a damn thing but rather a theft of taxpayer income center which then gets used for such fraud and corruption as this case exemplifies.

Violence erupts at VB Oceanfront

Multiple shootings and stabbings reported


VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Violence erupted Saturday night and early Sunday morning at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
 
According to Virginia Beach Police, officers received 300 emergency calls in the area for service between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m., including three shootings, two stabbings and three robberies.
 
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department told WAVY.com the first shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Atlantic Avenue. Moyers said a victim was struck in the leg/hip area but was uncooperative with police.
 
Hours later, the second shooting occurred in the 300 block of 33rd Street when a man sitting in a vehicle heard a loud noise and his window shattered around 3 a.m. The victim then noticed he'd been shot in the chest.
 
Less than 15 minutes later, another shooting occurred in the area of 27th Street and Atlantic Avenue after a verbal argument between two people. Moyers said the victim was struck in the face by a gun, which then discharged and he was hit in his face.
 
Officials say all injuries received were non-life threatening.
 
Video shot by 10 On Your Side showed officers on horses working to get control of the crowd which spilled out into the streets.
 
One person was arrested for a shots-fired call, but 10 On Your Side video showed multiple people were detained and put into police cars as the investigation continued and officers organized the situation.
 
Officials told WAVY.com crews were forced to shut down parts of Interstate 264 and some surface streets overnight as they worked to get things under control.
 
Things were under control and streets were reopened by 6 a.m. Sunday. City crews were cleaning up a large amount of trash left in the area and spraying the streets down with water around 6:30 a.m.

Libertas, there has been a black GreekFest at the Beach for awhile now.  But starting in 1989, yes, you read that date right, the black attendees have been rioting, creating havoc and causng violence.  This is not the only city/area that has trouble with black events.  Hell, even Atlanta had one that had to be permanently cancelled because of the violence.  Now when a black-run city like Atlanta cancells such a black event because it is too violent, that speaks volumes.

I was down in the area that weekend.  The riots took everyone by surprise.  But the City in its infinite wisdom has not stopped the GreekFest, and every year more and more businesses close up shop and cover the windows like a hurricane is coming, and one could argue one is coming.  Black Greekfest is a big hit to beachfront businesses which are pretty much seasonal, as GreekFest takes place on Labor Day Weekend, that last official weekend of summer (and tourists).  I can only imagine the violence has gotten worse over the last couple of years, with tourism down as well.

These recent riots were a tuneup of sorts:  It was supposed to be a weekend bash before college finals.  As if I ever had a weekend bash BEFORE finals.  After finals is a whole 'nother story.

Hampton Institute and Norfolk St., both black schools with overly entitled graduates, are the two main culprits when it comes to the schools these misunderstood yutes attend.  Then, of course, every brutha and sistuh in the area feel entitled to attend, even if they are not in school.  Good time to raise hell what with the cover all of the black participants provide.
