1965,was supposed to be discharged, but LBJ extended all of us for 6 month's. So I got on a boat, spent a month going from Nam to Cali where I got lost(?) in frisco and forgot to send $ for airfare to my future wife in Kaneohe. Hell she damn near beat me to NJ. Mine started in 65, I would say damn LBJ, but his actions (draft increase), put my life on a different track.  Was 19, working my butt off in a dry cleaners, when LBJ's draft increase sent me to a Navy Recruiter.....for me my life got better.  At least, as my old boss said, " I wasn't taking in washing no more"   lol
