Some people have mentioned the 'Russian invasion' of Georgia recently. Here is what happened.
Apparently there was some international agreement and a few Russian peacekeepers In the South Osetia region of Georgia.
The Georgian president decided to invade the region and did Aug. 7, 2008 with lots of troops, tanks, some jets, artillery. There are lots of videos taken by locals being invaded and better yet, videos taken by the Georgian soldiers. There were the Russian peacekeepers and then some unorganized militia armed with maybe AK47s and SKSs.
Lots of Russian troops killed and more wounded.
As usual, the most accurate information IMO is provided by the local civilians on video who were there. The invasion starts around 2:45. I linked to the part where the west MSM reports and then the Georgian president asks for western help to preserve western values. :lolh: At 37:45 min a girl and her mom, back in the US Bay Area, ruin the US propaganda on Fox news. They say how the Georgians invaded, not the Russians.
The Russians went past South Ossetia into Georgia proper, stayed a while, got an agreement, then left. I assume they left a peacekeeping force.
