Upon reading my latest issue of American Rifleman last night I realized I had forgotten about some of these jokers...like most astroturf outfits libiots come up with they keep changing their names (ala ACORN) to throw the public off so they can work their mischief.

The Left always has to disguise who they are and what they want. In a sane world that alone would be enough to tell people what they need to know about them. But yeah I've noticed since Sandy Hook that they've been actively trying to stake a claim to the term "gun safety" and have it replace the older term "gun control" because they realize the latter has been consistently unpopular.

In the lifetime of my political awareness, the Leftists have NEVER been honest about who they are and what their intentions are.

In fact, Barack Hussein Obama has been more up-front and honest about his intentions than any political Leftist I can rememeber.

He doesn't usually slip up like Maxine Waters, proclaiming his desire to "nationalize" industry. And he lies often, so I'm not saying he's a truthful man. But in some regards, he broadcasts exactly who he is, and exactly what he intends.

That's a big part of what makes him scary to me. He can say things outright that heretofore the Leftists have been too ashamed to say, and somehow he is never held to a final account.

And meanwhile, even as the Leftists obfuscate (as evidenced by the subject of this thread), more and more, they poke their heads out, dip their toes in the water, and throw up trial balloons, ever testing how overtly collectivist and totalitarian they can be, without suffering electoral defeat. Obama has emboldened them, which I suppose on balance is a good thing, if a final reckoning of truth is to come.

I'm not sure where you've been, but Owebama ran as a moderate centrist Democrat in 2008; many of our vaunted 4th Estate still won't admit in their reporting that he's a radical far left progressive.  His slipup was his 'share the wealth' line on Joe the Plumber's front yard, but that was quickly 'papered' over by our very own Pravda, as is every verbal blunder that escapes his purple lips.

Owebama has never been honest and ran as a socialist/communist, his actual philosophy.  No, he lied and ran as a middle of the road centrist, and how can you not trust that in the man?  It was complete Praetorian Guard fictional BS which 'proved' the campaign narrative Owebama and his handlers pushed.

The problem with Owebama is that no matter how much he presents us with his evil totalitarian side, our Praetorian Guard media jealously protect us from those faux pas' more diligently than Smaug guarded his treasure under the Lonely Mountain and so do not report them.  (How often was his 'I'm not a dictator' line repeated?  Yeah, I know, rhetorical question.)  We on the right have to dig to find them.  The quotes and all are out there, but they are not incessantly spoon fed the 'low information voter' public 24/7/365 via the newscasts.  You know the drill:  If the media doesn't cover it, it never happened.  Unemployment hovering around 7.5 to 8% for five years, the highest since the '30s?  You'd be hard pressed to find that on any nightly newscast, whereas Bush's unemployment rate hovering around 5 to 5 1/2% for most of his two terms was the end of the friggin' world.  Or at least that's what we were told by our Chicken Little media every single gawddamn day.

Obama saying that he is in favor of a single payer health system, but that it'll take some years to get there.
Obama saying that America is not a Christian nation.

Obama returning the bust of Churchill to the Brits.
Obama saying he intends to bankrupt the coal industry.
Obama saying he intends to make the cost of electricity skyrocket.
Obama saying at some point you've made enough money.
Obama saying that illegal immigrants should punish their enemies.
Obama saying that he'll blatantly circumvent congress.
Obama flipping John McCain and Hillary Clinton the middle-finger.

Shall I continue? Because this is just a cursory, top-of-the-mind list of those times when Barack Hussein Obama told us exactly who he is and/or what he intends. I could probably quadruple this list without consulting google.

I'm not saying he's a truthteller. I'm saying that he sometimes brazenly tells the truth. He lies or tells the truth according to which will best serve his agenda.
