Target and other places have announced that customers' credit and debit cards and personal information have been hacked.
Has anyone here had any problems with this hacking?

Not this per se, but a while back I did have one of my bank cards involved in a scam that resulted someone going on a spending spree in Europe. Got that resolved and without owing jack. Not sure something of this scale is going to end very well for all too many folks.

My bank told me that our debit cards MAY have been hacked; they were on a numerical list of possible hackings. They just issued me a new one. No problems though.
That's the only incident for us.

Wife's cards were [one credit and one debit] when she used it at Target over the holidays - had to be replaced and with new account number. With her debit they tried to use number, but company caught it right away and stopped it, notified her and reissued Luckly for me we both have our own seperate cards, so it didn't effect mine.

Debit Cards
Just say no. There's is absolutely no reason to have one, exposing your very bank account, other than your credit sucks and you need something for an electronic age.

Most of the time I would agree. Ours is combination debit / credit and a seperate account. Unless we notify them of travel prior to, anything debit out of this area is not excepted, plus is covered with verification by us of not using it. As stated before they caught it, stopped it and notified us the day it happened.

Same with us, Rusty.
