WTF? Winter Storm Leon? So they have to add drama to the winter now? And what were the names of the first 11 storms?

I'm waiting until they get to the "O". Would they dare to do it?

Don't get me started.

Too late.

And WTF is up with "snow SHOWER", "snow EVENT", hmmm?  Does everything need its own new term and name now?  Is the added word somehow more descriptive?  Does a storm deserve more attention because it has a name?

On the other hand, there's "frozen precip".   ::saywhat::   Five syllables of "precipitation" too much trouble?  Then just say "frozen rain"; that cuts yet another syllable off.

If it isn't made to be as ominous sounding as possible...they'll never penetrate the skull of your average brain-dead American schlub.

Well, I know one of them was named Deon because I remember I had to start a whole thread about it to vent my annoyance: http://itsaboutliberty.com/index.php?topic=9908.0 (http://itsaboutliberty.com/index.php?topic=9908.0)

The winter storm that affected the South earlier this week, yeah in the Charlotte area we got maybe 1-2" and the local TV news goobers were doing a live broadcast about it the whole day. I think they seriously preempted every show in their lineup. I have always been annoyed by the ridiculous effort to sensationalize this crap. I mean yeah snow and ice are infrequent in the South, but not that infrequent. Certainly not infrequent enough to warrant wall to wall coverage like it's the return of Halley's Comet or something.
