Well, at least there is sometimes good news for working people. Volkswagen employees manage to keep auto union out of their plant (for now).
Its a big loss for the union, as Volkswagen itself didn't seem to fight it at all, and even encouraged it to a degree (wtf???). Its good news because this was the plant most thought had the highest chance of becoming union in the south. Most other foreign automakers are more upfront about keeping unions out of their plants (right to work states).

Funny how the union and their allies in the Democrat party can't conceive that the vote would go this way without some sort of interference and collusion between VW and local politicians. Gee, maybe unions don't make inroads in the South because in the South we can simply look at what unions did to Detroit and the rest of the Rust Belt.
Unions had their place when companies were doing things like paying workers in company scrip, forcing them to work in hazardous conditions, etc. Those things are now protected against by law, which removed a substantial part of the unions' reason for existing. The only thing they've really accomplished in recent decades is to drive out business and hence economic growth. Hostess bakery, anyone?

Unions have also made their bosses rich, off the dues of members and sweetheart deals from companies.

Some further good news to VW employees in Tennessee. Union to drop challenge to union vote. For now.

Sounds like too much of their dirty laundry would be aired in hearings to overturn the vote that kept unions out of VW's plant.
I'm sure this fight is far from really being over, but for the moment, VW is union free.

I think you are correct, I think they are going to perform some cleansing and return for the battle anew at some point not too far from now.
As with everything, people cannot rest on their victories...evil never sleeps and never gives up plotting and scheming!
Oh, and look for their mutts in congress to tweak the law to make it more amenable to union skullduggery so they can scurry into the dark unlit corners for security should anyone dare try to make them accountable or answerable in the least!

I got a chuckle out of this. The Thugs say they're gonna start a congressional investigation into "wrongful interference" - ostensibly none of their wrongful interference - in the lead-up to the vote.
Keep a supply of popcorn handy because it ain't over till the Fat Flotus shrieks ;')
