That's what a city going feral looks like.
Forget where I saw it but the Catholic Diocese is partly to blame for this. When one Bishop took it upon himself to plan a slow integration, the Diocese rejected his plan and sought out instead a large swaths of mainly poor to move into an area all at once bringing down safety and property values thus the indigenous population, Irish and Poles left as fast as they could leaving a dead carcass in it's wake. The left got what it wanted, a mass blue collar exodus and got a large swath of area of dedicated DemonRat voters that were on the take from the govt doles. ::rockethrow::

I fail to see how the Diocese could project that much power. I say Dhimm politics had a LOT more effect.

I fail to see how the Diocese could project that much power. I say Dhimm politics had a LOT more effect.
They were in collusion with the rat party. They got what they deserved, demilitarized zone and lost parishioners. They lead nobody except the very few that are left.

Cue Obama and his acolytes complaining about "abandoning" the cities. The Left has already floated trial balloons for things like exit taxes. It all proceeds from the premise that you property and earnings aren't your own, therefore you can't just up and take it with you.
That's why everything in communist countries ended up being coerced, because the economic system was so wholly unnatural that the only way to make it even partially viable was to dictate every aspect of a citizen's life. Where to work, where to live, what job function. The liberals here would absolutely exercise the same degree of control if they get the chance.
