It could have been anything...until I got to -

...Sub-tenders do NOT call attention to themselves with such manuevers!

Something is up, and as usual the Rooskies will deny it until the end of time...

You can always tell it's a ZH article when the real blame falls on the West.  Poor old Ivan has had no choice but to ramp up his military maneuvers, you see.

Yeah, they do kinda suck at hiding their Russophilia...   ::)

They have the same attitude toward Ivan that Ivan has toward Xerxes...both are deluded thinking their partner would never turn on them.

Fools, they'd be more entertaining if they weren't so bloody dangerous to everyone around them!!!

Man, Rooskies still suck at BS-ing!

"Novoship President Yuri Tsvetkov said he was 'flattered' by the attention but said the ship was charted for transporting oil from Russia to the U.S. and was drifting on standby awaiting loading orders."

Yeah!   ::hysterical::

This isn't the Mariana Trench, you anchor in this protected body of water under relatively calm water...you are not going to squirrel around like that, that track is a track of a ship under power!

 ::hysterical::

Cannot come up with better BS than that?!  Bwuuuhaahaaa!!!!   ::rolllaughing::

The most likely explanation to me is the sub was Russian and snooping and the tender came along to stir things up so as to allow the sub to slither away when others got curious.

Sounds like Sweden retired its sub hunting equipment a little too early.

Well, since they've been caving in to Islaminals...there doesn't appear to be much left of the old Viking gene's left in them, nor for Norway...and the Dane's are nothing...and the Baltics are wary of the Rooskies but to small to do much of it other than to be beggars at NATO's table..

And Scandinavia (Norway, actually) gave us the name/term "Quisling"...seems there are a lot of them about still...caving in to Muhammad.

I think Finland might be the only Scandinavian nation still keeping a close eye on their crazy neighbor, even though they are mostly socialist politically (some of that being dialed back a bit after one crisis or another) their economy is about the size of Japan and they have a long memory of abuse at the hands of the Russian's...they are in the EU but not NATO, although they do allot some forces to NATO.

Sweden has typically been the more dominate nation of the group, but they are a mixed bag.  If I had to go to war to fight Rooskies I think I'd rather be with a Finn than anybody else from that region.

Yeah, gone...duh!

Next time...move faster!  Oh, and upgrade that equipment!   ::)
