The Taliban have attacked a school in Peshawar, Pakistan and killed 141 people -- 132 of them children.

They don't even care about killing other Muslims. I have heard their rationalizations of this before. It's basically "well if any Muslims are killed, then they will go to Paradise so it is no loss." Supposedly when they burned the Library of Alexandria in Egypt, some of their scholars urged against it because of the loss of knowledge. The sultan said "Any information that contradicts the Koran must be destroyed, and any information that coincides with the Koran is superfluous." It's a very fatalistic mind virus.

Starting in January, maybe we should have a thread with the running death toll (so we have an idea of a yearly death toll, its got to be higher then even we imagine). Maybe make it a sticky.

Damn, that is a brilliant idea there Rich!
I bet if you make a website something along the lines of this type of layout (http://www.usdebtclock.org/), it would be a huge traffic generator and possibly draw advertising interest and supplemental income!
Call it "Islamic Crimes Against Humanity" or something truthful and forceful like that. List total murders and sub-categories for beheadings, suicide bombings, shootings, hangings, stonings etc...list total crimes against women-rapes, stonings, genital mutilations, forced arranged marriages, divorce by murder...list crimes against children - exploitation, rape, incest...crimes against livestock...
You don't even have to be 100% accurate in the tally, since starting historically you would have to go with estimates anyway, and once some initial stats and assumptions have been made run some run rates and extrapolate to current populations as well as update for larger scale real events like these 141 people. It's like building a budget off forecast. Wouldn't be that hard.
