Title: Patriot Act NSA Mass Hoovering Declared Unconstitutional by Second Circuit
Post by: Libertas on May 07, 2015, 12:01:14 PM
A federal court has decided that the National Security Agency’s bulk, warrantless collection of millions of Americans’ phone records is illegal.

The sweeping decision from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday represents a major court victory for opponents of the NSA and comes just as Congress begins a fight over whether to renew the underlying law used to justify the program.

That program “exceeds the scope of what Congress has authorized,” Judge Gerard Lynch wrote on behalf of the three-judge panel.

How cute, used the term "almost-Orwellian"...isn't that precious?!

And this tooth-fairy follower thinks, ahh, who is going to pay attention to this ruling?

I mean, swell, you ruled...where does the enforcement part of non-compliance come from?

Hello?

(crickets)

It'll be business as usual at the NSA, just like it's business as usual at the IRS and dozens of other alphabet agencies.  Things like Checks & Balances, Separation of Powers, are just quaint fables for the peasants.

Yup.

All there is to debate is when it all hits the fan, not if.

I will remember who, what, and when.   ;)

Not surprisingly, the NSA will not destroy the massive database of information it has collected (http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-83654258/).

A nice "FU:" to the Court.  And unless the Court authorizes a willing enforcement agency/agent they will get away with it.

No heroes here, nope, not in Government.

And this BS over what the Congress will or will not pass (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_CONGRESS_SURVEILLANCE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2015-05-31-19-36-38) is so utterly pointless...anybody who thinks anything one way or the other is going to reign in governments insatiable appetite for information with which to control the actions of every living soul alive and yet to be born is an insufferable fool!!!

I also wonder what they have planned as our punishment for the NSA data collection powers being allowed to expire over the weekend.  It's a virtual certainty that there will be some "event" that they will blame on having lost these powers.

Oh yeah...

No better fund raising tool than a false flag event you can frame your domestic enemies for.

And the laughable irony of a constitutional, efficient and effective government operating with unlimited power...and such power directed at actual enemies and not innocent citizens (like us)...yeah...there is fiction everywhere.  But sheeple are so used to sh*t they can't smell it when it hits them in the face, so...

Like I said...replacing the Patriot Act with the Freedom Act (http://itsaboutliberty.com/index.php?topic=13210.new#new) won't make one damn bit of difference to what government actually does...it's all PR Kabuki for the ignorant masses...

 ::mooning::

And Team Evil never sleeps...check out the latest effort to silence dissent in America!

"...land of the oppressed...home of the cowardly..."

Why do we put up with this sh*t?!

Damn them all!

Does our government have the propensity to use its power to engage in targeting its political enemies within?

Sheeple are fearful of answering that question honestly...because then they would have to make a choice, and choices have consequences.
