Crap like this happens all the time.  But with the lunatics always running that asylum in the North, once can never tell if something will ever lead to everything.  The "boy who cried wolf" factor would definitely play into the hands of the North should anything be escalated to an invasion level event.

Could be just more of the usual.

A relative said he heard something about Alan West saying some 50 NORK subs are missing and presumed deployed, not sure what kind or what, sounds like wild speculation to me, I can find no verification of the allegation.  Not that a crazy-assed Un taking advantage of a stooge like Obama would be a surprise...but this rumor sounds a bit too wild to me.

If it's like their usual pattern, they rattle their sabers every so often to get some sort of concession (food aid, etc) while the rest of the world -- including their Chinese benefactors -- rolls their eyes.

Some people scoff at them for having basically a 1950s era military that wouldn't stand a chance against modern opponents.  That is true, but still kind of a stupid analysis.  1950s-era artillery could still prove very deadly for the South.  AFAIK, all of Seoul is in artillery range of the North.
