I don't know about LA cops, but the service weapon for a NYC cop has a 12 pound (maybe a bit heavier) trigger pull.  Takes a hella practice with that to get anywhere near accurate.

Interesting, I wonder how universal that is?  Or if it is a standard in most large urban areas?
