a) The Mahdi Cult is tired of using unreliable naval fleet that is vastly out gunned.
b) The Mahdi Cult's drones hardly look threatening, appear no better than online retail offerings with no boast of even made up weaponization.

d) Pretty sure a target microwave burst on these things would be all that is needed to disable them...making any disappearance look sufficiently questionable as to cause and thereby reducing any impulse to go stupid...but Mahdi Cult can be stupid...and stupid has consequences...and that risk is always with them so nothing new there.
e) Monitoring a carrier task force not that hard here...it's narrowest point is 21 miles wide and had basically 3 main shipping lanes...
