Any one have it, treatment used, wife has it

My grandpa went legally blind from it in the 1970s. My mom has it and it's treated with shots to the eyes. It's not fun but it beats blindness.

Heard of folks getting the shots...sounds excruciating... ::exitstageleft::
Lucky I can see as well as I do...but still need glasses for distance though Rx isn't very strong...
And now, my left eye seems to be getting better...which is weird but OK...
Guessing your wife's isn't early...but if it is...vitamins are key...
Otherwise laser for leaky vessels or the Anti-VEGF injections...

My grandma had it for many years before she passed away. She had enough vision to function until the end, but it did slowly worse and worse until her vision was extremely impaired. But she never went completely blind. She passed away about a decade ago at age 94, and she suffered with MD for 15 or 20 years before that. Hopefully the medicine had made advances in the past decade, and your wife will have a better time of it than Grandma.

Offered laser or injections, not much else available
